In 1997 graduated from Kingwood (TX) High School, where he was a 3-time letterwinner and a 2-time All-District selection in baseball...played at San Jacinto Junior College in Houston and at Louisiana State University...was a 2-time All-Conference selection at San Jacinto...was named Best Defensive Player at the 1998 Junior College World Series and was selected to the 1999 JUCO all-tournament team...in 2000 was a member of LSU's NCAA national championship team... originally was drafted by the Devil Rays in both 1997 and 1998 but did not sign.
2006
Near the end of spring training was acquired by the Reds from the Marlins...spent the season at Class AAA Louisville and produced 8hr and 30rbi in just 74g...in August spent time on the disabled list with a strained lower back (8/21-8/28)...led the club with 70 starts behind the plate...the Bats went 40-30 in his starts...threw out 26-65 baserunners attempting to steal (40%)...was not charged with a passed ball all season...on 4/11 at Syracuse hit a game-winning home run in the top of the 10th inning.
2005
Appeared in 53g for Class AAA Albuquerque...in his Major League debut made 4 apps for the Marlins... played in both games of a doubleheader on 8/8 at Col and in the nightcap made his only career start (0-3)... appeared as a defensive replacement on 8/12 vs SF and as a pinch hitter on 8/23 at Mil...was optioned back to Albuquerque on 8/27...on 9/9 was designated for assignment and 5 days later was outrighted off the roster.
2004
Spent the season at Class AAA Albuquerque...in May and June missed time while on the disabled list with a muscle strain...from 7/7-7/25 put together a season-high 10-game hitting streak (.325).
2003
Appeared in 67g at Class AA Carolina...in May and June was bothered by a lower back strain.
