2005
After a dismal start to his fourth straight year at Triple-A Charlotte, the powerful switch-hitter finished with impressive numbers for the Knights. Borchard hit .263 over 494 at-bats but knocked out 29 home runs and drove in 67. Borchard also fanned 143 times, but became the career hits leader for the Knights with his 130 in 2005. Borchard made a brief appearance with the White Sox as a Sept. callup, knocking out five hits in 12 at-bats. Borchard had two doubles among those five hits. He is out of Minor League options for the 2006 season and needs to make the team out of Spring Training to most likely stay with the organization.
