He and his wife Jill have one son, Luke...They reside in Irvine, CA...Is a 1995 graduate of Marina High School in Huntington Beach, CA, where he played baseball...Was named All-State and All-America, along with league MVP, in 1995...In recognition of his work both on the field and in the community during the 2004 season, Wilson was selected as Pittsburgh's nominee for the Roberto Clemente Award presented by John Hancock...Was involved with the Epilepsy Foundation of Pittsburgh and the Gilmore Infant and Women's Center at Allegheny General Hospital.

2006

Began season with Lynchburg (A)...Was named to the Carolina League mid-season All-Star team...Hit .327 (17-for-52) from 5/26 thru 6/8...Homered in back-to-back games on 6/7-8...Was promoted to Carolina (AA) on 6/21...Batted .294 with 17 home runs and 66 RBI in 106 games with the two clubs...Missed some time due to pain in right elbow.

1997

Spent entire season with Carolina League champion Lynchburg - team managed by current Pirate coach Jeff Banister...Ranked fifth among Pittsburgh farmhands in home runs...Went 0-for-30 over a nine-game span from 6/25 to 7/9...Homered twice on 7/21 at Frederick and again on 7/30 vs. Winston-Salem.

1996

Spent entire season with Hagerstown (Blue Jays' A)...Established minor league career highs in games, hits and stolen bases...Made 67 appearances behind the plate and 50 in the outfield.

Made professional debut with Medicine Hat (Pioneer League) after being selected by Toronto in the second round of the June draft.
