Jason Wayne Standridge resides in Springville, Ala., with his wife, Joy...Graduated from Hewit-Trussville (Ala.) High where he was the captain of the baseball and football teams...went 9-1 with a 2.19 ERA during senior season...Was Auburn University's top quarterback recruit, but chose to sign with the Devil Rays.
2007
Began the season with Omaha, but did not appear before having his contract purchased on April 4 when the Royals placed Octavio Dotel on the D.L...Appeared in 3 games with the Royals, going 0-1 with a 9.45 ERA before being designated for assignment on April 20...Assigned to Omaha and pitched there for 2 weeks before having his contract purchased by KC on May 10...tossed a scoreless inning on May 19 at Colorado before being designated for assignment on May 22...elected free agency on May 25.
2006
Split the season between Class AAA Louisville and the Cincinnati Reds...Recorded a 1-1 record with a 4.82 ERA in 21 relief appearances for the Reds... in 18.2 innings, allowed 17 hits, 10 earned runs and 2 home runs...walked 14 and struck out 18...Stranded all 12 inherited runners, the best mark on the Reds staff...held lefthanders to a .200 (5-25) batting average...did not allow a home run in 12 home appearances...Was tough with runners in scoring position, holding batters to a .200 (4-20) average... did not allow a hit in 11 at bats with runners in scoring position and 2 outs...Went 2-2 with a 2.93 ERA in 37 appearances for Louisville...struck out 43 in 46.0 innings while allowing 40 hits...Began the season with Louisville before being promoted to Cincinnati on June 19...was the Louisville Pitcher of the Month in May...Went 1-1 with a 4.40 ERA in 16 outings before being placed on the 15-day D.L. with back spasms on Aug. 7...missed 23 games with the back injury...Recorded a 1-0 record with a 1.69 ERA (5.1 IP, 2 H, 1 ER) in his 1st 6 games following his promotion...also posted a 1.17 ERA (7.2 IP, 2 H, 1 ER) in 7 appearances from July 18-Aug. 6 before being placed on the D.L...Returned from the D.L. and 8 rehab appearances at Louisville on Sept. 1 and posted a 6.23 ERA the remainder of the season...allowed 2 earned runs in just 0.1 innings in his final appearance on Sept. 23, raising his ERA from 3.93 to 4.82.
2005
Made a career-high 34 apps for the Rangers and Reds...was a non-roster invitee to Rangers spring training...began the regular season at Class AAA Oklahoma and made 15 apps there before his contract was purchased by Tex on 6/17...made a pair of relief apps for the Rangers, on 6/19 vs Was (0.2ip, 4h, 3er, 1ibb, 0k) and on 6/20 at LAA (1.2ip, 3h, 0r, 0bb, 2k, 1wp), before he was designated for assignment on 6/24...on 6/30 refused an outright assignment to the minor leagues and became a free agent...the next day was signed by the Reds to a minor league contract...made 2 apps for Class AAA Louisville, on 7/2 and 7/3 vs Indianapolis, before he was promoted to the Reds on 7/5...finished the season in Cin...posted a 0.53era in his first 15 apps for the Reds through 8/13, then in 8g from 8/14-8/31 posted a 13.50era before finishing the season with a 2.70era in 9 apps in September/October...from 7/16-8/13 did not allow a run in 14 consecutive apps (16ip)...the 14-game and 16-inning scoreless streaks both were the longest by any Reds pitcher in 2005...earned his first Major League victories on 7/16 vs Col (7-6 win) and 7/27 at LA (7-6 win)...suffered his 2 losses in consecutive apps on 8/16 vs SF (10-8 loss) and 8/20 vs Ari (6-2 loss).
2004
Began the year on TB's 15-day disabled list while recovering from right shoulder surgery...made rehab apps for Class AA Montgomery and Class AAA Durham before he was activated on 5/19...from 5/19-6/1 made all 3 of his apps for the Devil Rays before he was designated for assignment on 6/3...cleared waivers and on 6/9 was outrighted to Durham...made his only start for the Rays on 5/27 vs Min (3ip, 4r)...for the Bulls threw consecutive complete games on 8/8/g1 and 8/13, losing both.
2003
Was up with the Rays from June 10 to July 28 and made 8 appearances,7 starts,going 0-5 with a 6.37 ERA. Was recalled and placed into the rotation when Carlos Reyes was designated...Pitched to a 3.99 ERA through his first 5 starts, then lost 11-3 vs. CWS on July 6 and 13-2 @ SEA on July 13, allowing a combined 9 hits, 12 runs and 5 walks in 2.2 innings pitched ... did not get out of the first at SAFECO, facing just 7 batters (31 pitches), walking 4 of them ... outings hiked his ERA to 7.03...Lone relief appearance was his last outing, July 25 at Chicago in a 7-2 Rays loss (3.1-IP, 2-H, 2-BB, 2-SO)...Has made 10 career relief appearances and 8 career starts...Is still looking for his first big league win ... has exited 3 of his 8 career starts with the lead...On July 1 vs. the Red Sox left with a 3-1 lead after 5.2 ... was 2 outs from his first big league win when Todd Walker struck a 2-run single off closer Lance Carter to tie game ... Rays won 4-3 in 11 innings ... his line 5.2-IP, 6-H, 1-R/ER, 2-BB, 2-SO...On June 15 vs. Pittsburgh (IP-5.2, H-5, R-3, ER-3, BB-2, SO-5, HR-1) ... Didn't allow a hit until the 5th and took a 4-0 lead into the 6th ... Left in the 6th with a 4-3 lead, but Pirates went on to a 9-5 win...On June 21 at FLA, lost 2-0 to fellow rookie Dontrelle Willis in a 5-inn. rain-shortened game (5-IP, 5-H, 2-R/ER, 2-BB, 2-SO) ... was one of Rays' 7 season complete games...Went 2-4 with a 4.50 ERA in 12 appearances, 10 starts at Durham (60-IP, 62-H, 32-R, 30-ER, 28-BB, 37-SO)...Began the season on the disabled list (right shoulder strain) ... reinstated April 20 and made his first career relief appearance, pitching 4.0 scoreless innings vs. Louisville (Reds), earning his lone professional save.
2002
Righthander was up with the Rays for just two days May 15-16...appeared in one game in relief, May 16 @ Yankee Stadium and pitched 3.0 innings of relief in a 13-0 defeat (7-H, 3-R/ER, 4-BB, 1-SO, HR-B.Williams), the Rays' worst shutout loss in team history....Tied a Devil Rays minor league record and led the International League with 29 starts for Class AAA Durham...Tied mark also held by Pablo Ortega (Charleston, 1997) and Dan Wheeler (Charleston, 1998)....Finished 4th in the IL with 173.0 innings pitched, tops among Rays minor leaguers in 2002...His 3.12 ERA was 8th best in the league...Led the IL Champion Bulls in starts, innings and strikeouts (111)....Allowed 3 ER or less in 23 of his 29 starts and 2 ER or less 19 times, but won only 7 of those games....Had 4 combined shutouts, 2nd in the IL behind Joe Roa of Scranton Wilkes-Barre (Phillies) who had 5...Three of those games were 1-0...Also lost a 1-0 game (vs. Richmond Braves on Aug 12)...Helped blank Louisville (Reds) 1-0 on April 10; Toledo (Tigers) 1-0 on May 6, Ottawa (Expos) 1-0 on July 12 and Charlotte (White Sox) 8-0 on September 2....Had a 4-game win streak over 7 starts, May 21-June 21 (1.66, IP-43.1, H-34, ER-8, HR-1)....Won only once in his last 6 starts (1-3 despite allowing only 8 ER over than span (IP-35.2) for a 2.01 ERA...Bulls scored 2 runs or less in 11 of his 29 starts....Opponents were 0-for-11 with the bases loaded.

The 22-year-old was one of nine Rays rookies to make his major league debut in 2001...Spent two tours with the Rays...was up July 27 to Aug. 25 and Sep 4 thru season's end...Became the 100th player to wear a Devil Rays uniform and the first of the Rays´ five first round draft picks to make the major leagues (Rays #1 pick in the 1997 draft, 30th overall)...Made his major league debut July 29 at Texas and pitched 0.1 in a 2-0 TB loss (1-H, 1-BB)...Made a pair of relief appearances then a spot start Aug. 9 vs. Roger Clemens and the Yankees and hurled 6.1 innings (4-H, 1-BB, 5-SO, 81 pitches) came within one out of his first big league victory (left leading 2-0) before the Yanks came from behind in the 9th to win it, 4-3...Began his career with 10.0 scoreless innings pitched until it ended when he allowed a run over 2.1 in a 12-5 loss at Yankee Stadium Aug. 16...was the best stretch to begin a career by any pitcher in TB history...Made 6 appearances (1 start) his first tour and pitched to a 2.51 ERA (14.1-IP, 4-ER)...in three relief outings the season´s final month he pitched to a 10.80 ERA (5.0-IP, 9-H, 6-ER, 0-K, 4-HR)...Allowed 5 HR in his last 4 outings, covering 7.1-IP...On Sep 8 @ OAK, worked 3.0 innings in a 10-4 Rays loss his longest relief outing - allowed 3 runs on a pair of HR (Menechino and Dye)...Was 5-10 at AAA Durham with a team-leading 20 starts (5.28, IP-102.1, H-130, ER-60) prior to his first callup...Was optioned to AA Orlando following his first stint with the Rays and went 0-2 with a 5.59 ERA (9.2-IP, 12-H, 6-ER) in two starts...Worked a season-high 7 innings twice: May 6 vs. Syracuse and June 29 @ Syracuse...Was the Rays minor league pitcher of the year in 1999 at Class A Charleston and St. Petersburg.

In his second professional season, went 4-4 with a 7.00 ERA for Rookie Princeton...Beat Bluefield 2-0 on June 17 Opening Day 1998 for his first win as a pro.

Was winless in 13 starts his rookie season with the GCL Rays, however, in his last 11 starts he pitched to a 2.33 ERA, including a 2.05 mark in the month of August...Struck out 55 in 57.2 inings pitched.
