Jason Wayne Standridge resides in Springville, Ala., with his wife, Joy...Graduated from Hewit-Trussville (Ala.) High where he was the captain of the baseball and football teams...went 9-1 with a 2.19 ERA during senior season...Was Auburn University's top quarterback recruit, but chose to sign with the Devil Rays.

2007

Began the season with Omaha, but did not appear before having his contract purchased on April 4 when the Royals placed Octavio Dotel on the D.L...Appeared in 3 games with the Royals, going 0-1 with a 9.45 ERA before being designated for assignment on April 20...Assigned to Omaha and pitched there for 2 weeks before having his contract purchased by KC on May 10...tossed a scoreless inning on May 19 at Colorado before being designated for assignment on May 22...elected free agency on May 25.

2006

Split the season between Class AAA Louisville and the Cincinnati Reds...Recorded a 1-1 record with a 4.82 ERA in 21 relief appearances for the Reds... in 18.2 innings, allowed 17 hits, 10 earned runs and 2 home runs...walked 14 and struck out 18...Stranded all 12 inherited runners, the best mark on the Reds staff...held lefthanders to a .200 (5-25) batting average...did not allow a home run in 12 home appearances...Was tough with runners in scoring position, holding batters to a .200 (4-20) average... did not allow a hit in 11 at bats with runners in scoring position and 2 outs...Went 2-2 with a 2.93 ERA in 37 appearances for Louisville...struck out 43 in 46.0 innings while allowing 40 hits...Began the season with Louisville before being promoted to Cincinnati on June 19...was the Louisville Pitcher of the Month in May...Went 1-1 with a 4.40 ERA in 16 outings before being placed on the 15-day D.L. with back spasms on Aug. 7...missed 23 games with the back injury...Recorded a 1-0 record with a 1.69 ERA (5.1 IP, 2 H, 1 ER) in his 1st 6 games following his promotion...also posted a 1.17 ERA (7.2 IP, 2 H, 1 ER) in 7 appearances from July 18-Aug. 6 before being placed on the D.L...Returned from the D.L. and 8 rehab appearances at Louisville on Sept. 1 and posted a 6.23 ERA the remainder of the season...allowed 2 earned runs in just 0.1 innings in his final appearance on Sept. 23, raising his ERA from 3.93 to 4.82.

Made a career-high 34 apps for the Rangers and Reds...was a non-roster invitee to Rangers spring training...began the regular season at Class AAA Oklahoma and made 15 apps there before his contract was purchased by Tex on 6/17...made a pair of relief apps for the Rangers, on 6/19 vs Was (0.2ip, 4h, 3er, 1ibb, 0k) and on 6/20 at LAA (1.2ip, 3h, 0r, 0bb, 2k, 1wp), before he was designated for assignment on 6/24...on 6/30 refused an outright assignment to the minor leagues and became a free agent...the next day was signed by the Reds to a minor league contract...made 2 apps for Class AAA Louisville, on 7/2 and 7/3 vs Indianapolis, before he was promoted to the Reds on 7/5...finished the season in Cin...posted a 0.53era in his first 15 apps for the Reds through 8/13, then in 8g from 8/14-8/31 posted a 13.50era before finishing the season with a 2.70era in 9 apps in September/October...from 7/16-8/13 did not allow a run in 14 consecutive apps (16ip)...the 14-game and 16-inning scoreless streaks both were the longest by any Reds pitcher in 2005...earned his first Major League victories on 7/16 vs Col (7-6 win) and 7/27 at LA (7-6 win)...suffered his 2 losses in consecutive apps on 8/16 vs SF (10-8 loss) and 8/20 vs Ari (6-2 loss).

2004

Began the year on TB's 15-day disabled list while recovering from right shoulder surgery...made rehab apps for Class AA Montgomery and Class AAA Durham before he was activated on 5/19...from 5/19-6/1 made all 3 of his apps for the Devil Rays before he was designated for assignment on 6/3...cleared waivers and on 6/9 was outrighted to Durham...made his only start for the Rays on 5/27 vs Min (3ip, 4r)...for the Bulls threw consecutive complete games on 8/8/g1 and 8/13, losing both.

2003

Was up with the Rays from June 10 to July 28 and made 8 appearances,7 starts,going 0-5 with a 6.37 ERA. Was recalled and placed into the rotation when Carlos Reyes was designated...Pitched to a 3.99 ERA through his first 5 starts, then lost 11-3 vs. CWS on July 6 and 13-2 @ SEA on July 13, allowing a combined 9 hits, 12 runs and 5 walks in 2.2 innings pitched ... did not get out of the first at SAFECO, facing just 7 batters (31 pitches), walking 4 of them ... outings hiked his ERA to 7.03...Lone relief appearance was his last outing, July 25 at Chicago in a 7-2 Rays loss (3.1-IP, 2-H, 2-BB, 2-SO)...Has made 10 career relief appearances and 8 career starts...Is still looking for his first big league win ... has exited 3 of his 8 career starts with the lead...On July 1 vs. the Red Sox left with a 3-1 lead after 5.2 ... was 2 outs from his first big league win when Todd Walker struck a 2-run single off closer Lance Carter to tie game ... Was winless in 13 starts his rookie season with the GCL Rays, however, in his last 11 starts he pitched to a 2.33 ERA, including a 2.05 mark in the month of August...Struck out 55 in 57.2 inings pitched.
