League (AAA) on July 26 and hit .310 with four
home runs and 21 RBI... Combined, he led the Blue Jays
minor league organization hitting .334 in 129 games with 18
home runs and 81 RBI... Contract was purchased by Toronto
on August 30... Made his ML debut that day starting
in center field and was 0-3 with an outfield assist... Collected
his first hit in the majors on September 1, a double off
Minnesota's Eric Milton... On September 13 hit his first ML
home run off the Yankees' Orlando Hernandez (1R)... Was
selected to the Howe Sportsdata 1999 All-Prospect team...
