Kevin Stewart Barker...is a Virginia Tech alum and a graduate of Virginia (VA) High in Mendota, VA...at Virginia Tech, was Atlantic 10 Player of the Year as a junior (.361, 20 home runs, 62 RBI)...played center field at VPI...remains Virginia Tech's all-time leader with 17 triples.
2010
Tallied 31 extra-base hits, including 12 home runs in 80 Mexican Summer League contests with the Veracruz Red Eagles...tallied 55 walks en route to a stellar .416 on-base percentage.
2009
Hit .281 in 29 games with the Reds in first big league action since 2006...hit 22 homers in 101 games with Louisville of the Triple-A International League to earn the promotion.
1996
Posted 19-game hitting streak from June 21-July 10 in professional debut with Ogden...ranked among Pioneer League leaders in walks (4th, 46), doubles (tied for 4th, 19) and extra-base hits (tied for 5th, 32).

In first full pro campaign, totaled 35 doubles, 23 home runs and 108 RBI for Single-A Stockton and El Paso.
1998
Began season with Double-A El Paso, but advanced to Triple-A for the first time...paced all MIL minor leaguers with 28 home runs and 110 RBI.

Tallied 23 home runs and 87 RBI in 121 games for Louisville and was named MIL's Minor League Player of the Year... spent the final 6 weeks of the season with the Brewers...in MLB debut, Aug. 19 at HOU, finished 2-for-5 with a run scored and posted the game-winning RBI...singled off Chris Holt for initial big league hit...hit first MLB homer on Sept. 5 vs. STL off Larry Luebbers.

Spent season's first 2 months with the Brewers, but hit just .220 with 2 home runs and 9 RBI.

In final season with MIL organization, combined to hit .269 for Triple-A Indianapolis and Double-A Huntsville.

Barney Award as the team's co-Most Valuable Players...among all Reds farmhands ranked third in HR (21) and RBI (77)...led the Bats in HR, RBI and runs scored (73)...produced his sixth career 20-homer season...with 10 sac flies tied for the International League lead...hit 2 of Louisville's 4 grand slams (5/22 at Toledo, 6/17 at Rochester)...hit 2 homers on 7/29 at Charlotte and 8/29 at Indianapolis...on 4/28 vs Columbus made his fifth career pitching appearance, his first since 2005 (L, 1ip, 2h, 3er, 3bb, 0k)...began the season on Louisville's disabled list with a bruised left wrist...was activated on 4/15...following the season became a free agent but on 11/19 was resigned to a minor league contract and was invited to Major League spring training camp...played winter ball for Obregon in the Mexican Pacific League (13g, .231, 2hr, 6rbi).
2007
Spent the season with the Blue Jays' Class AAA affiliate in Syracuse, where he was International League Player of the Week for 8/27-9/3.
2006
Received an R. Howard Webster Award, recognizing Barker as the top player with Triple-A Syracuse. ... Hit a club-record 39 doubles with Syracuse. ... Posted a .275 average with 18 homers and 76 RBIs in 130 games at Triple-A. ... Was one of five September callups for Toronto and hit .235 with one home run in 12 games.
2005
Signed by the Blue Jays as a minor league free agent on April 3 and he excelled in both New Hampshire and Syracuse... Batted .254 with six home runs and 27 RBI with the Fisher Cats before being promoted to Syracuse... At the time of his arrival, SkyChiefs were 22-31... Played to a 49-42 record from that point on... Batted .305 with 23 home runs and 87 RBI for Syracuse, leading the International League with a .575 slugging percentage... Named as the Organizational Player of the Month for June after setting a SkyChiefs record with 41 RBI... Also batted .400 for the month... Between New Hampshire and Syracuse combined for 114 RBI, the sixth best total in the minor leagues in 2005... Was the first SkyChief (with the required at bats), to finish the season with a batting average of .300 or better since Orlando Hudson in 2002.
