Graduated from Glendora (CA) High School...attended Citrus College (Glendora, CA), where he started as shortstop before converting to pitcher in 1994...went 6-0 with 2.27 ERA...attended University of Southern California...led Trojans to National Championship game in 1995 College World Series...earned Most Outstanding Player honors in West Regional....married (Erin Larson)...son (Camden John, Oct. 11, 2002).

Returned to big leagues for 1st time since 2002, appearing in 5 games (2 starts) for San Francisco...Spring Training non-roster invitee went 0-2 with 8.78 ERA in big league stint...opened season at triple-A Fresno before having contract purchased by Giants April 14 to start that afternoon's contest vs. Milwaukee...suffered defeat as Giants fell 3-0 despite yielding 2 runs over 6.0 innings...made 4 more appearances (1 start) for Giants before being designated for assignment April 28...returned to Fresno before having contract sold to LG Twins of Korean League May 13...went 4-4 with 4.75 ERA (32er, 60.2ip) in 15 games (11 starts) abroad.
