Full name: Brian Patrick Sikorski...Resides in Fraser, MI...Married, wife's name is Samantha...Has 2 children; Easton and Avery...Majored in Criminal Justice at Western Michigan where he played 3 seasons (1993-95)...Voted by teammates as WMU's MVP and was co-pitcher of the year in the MAC in 1995...Selected to the GTE/All-Region MAC and Olive Garden/MAC academic team in 1995...Graduated from Rosevillle (MI) High School in 1992 where he was a 3-year letterman in baseball along with lettering twice in basketball...Is a big fan of Michigan football and a disciple of Lloyd Carr, despite his 1-5 record vs. Ohio State's Jim Tressel...Is also an avid follower of all Detroit sports teams.

Serviceable reliever spent virtually all of the second half in the Indians bullpen after being acquired from the San Diego Padres on July 18...Signed a Major League deal with SD on December 22 and was taken off the 40-man roster on March 27 and was re-signed to a minor league contract on March 30 by the Padres and assigned to AAA Portland...Made 22 relief appearances for Portland, going 2-1-4 w/a 2.63 ERA over his last 12 games (13.2IP, 14H, 4ER, 21K) before being promoted to San Diego on May 31...Overall at AAA Portland he limited hitters to a .225 (25-111) average against with 44K in 28.2IP...Was 1-1 w/a 5.65 ERA (14.1IP, 16H, 9ER, 3BB, 14K) in 13 relief outings w/ SD, limiting right-handed hitters to a .206 (6-29) average against...Over his first 11 outings his ERA was 3.09 (11.2IP, 10H, 4ER)...Was with the Padres from May 31 until being designated for assignment on July 17 and acquired by Cleveland the following day...Made his Indians debut on July 18 @LAA ...Won the 2nd AL game of his career, and the first since 2000, on August 12 (night) vs. Kansas City...Worked a season-high 2.2IP on Sept. 24 at Texas (3K)...Overall on the year MLB hitters batted .273 (36-132) with 8HR allowed, including a .225 (18-80) mark by RHH (3HR)...Average 11SO per 9.0IP with Cleveland...From August 22 thru the end of the season he compiled an ERA of 2.79 (9.2IP, 10H, 3ER, 8 games)...Batters hit .256 (23-90) off him with no one on base for the year...Batters hit .467 (7-15) on the first pitch off him and .409 (9-22) with RISP...Outrighted to AAA Buffalo, January 14.

Was 11-12 with a 4.40 ERA (87 ER/178.0 IP) in 34 games (28 starts) with Triple-A Oklahoma and Texas...turned in one of the top Major League pitching debuts in Rangers' history with 7.0 shutout innings to defeat the Yankees on August 16, allowing just four hits...became the fi rst Ranger to win his debut since Steve Dreyer on August 8, 1993 vs. Seattle...was 1-3 with a 5.00 ERA (15 ER/27.0 IP) in fi ve starts and posted a 7.59 ERA (9 ER/10.2 IP) in fi ve relief appearances...went 0-3 with a 6.75 ERA (15 ER/20 IP) in his fi nal four starts, the last on September 6...went to the bullpen and worked 3.0 shutout innings in three games before issuing four runs in 3.1 innings in fi nal appearance...fanned six on two occasions: August 21 at New York (AL) and September 16 vs. Kansas City...while with Oklahoma, ranked among Pacifi c Coast League leaders in complete games (second, with fi ve), shutouts (tied for second with two); his 10 wins tied for sixth, and his 4.04 ERA ranked 10th...topped the RedHawks in wins, complete games and strikeouts (99)...was 4-0 with a 3.32 ERA in his final six starts...earned a save in his only relief appearance, July 14 at Nashville.

Tied for second with 27 starts on the Triple-A New Orleans staff, his 122 strikeouts ranked second and was third with 158.1 innings...named Pacifi c Coast League Pitcher of the Week, April 19-25...lost seven straight decisions in next 11 games, April 26-June 18...fanned a season-high 11 batters on August 2 at Memphis.
1998
Split time between Double-A Jackson and Triple-A New Orleans and went a combined 11-12 with a 4.86 ERA (98 ER/181.1 IP) in 30 games...opened the season at Jackson, losing four of his fi rst fi ve decisions over nine starts, April 4-May 16...had a season-high fi ve game winning streak with a 2.88 ERA, May 21-June 16 before earning a promotion to New Orleans June 20...went 4-2 with a 3.26 ERA in seven games in July with the Zephyrs...won three straight games July 19-30.
1997
Went 13-7 with a 3.97 ERA (71 ER/161.0 IP) in 28 starts at Single-A Kissimmee and Double-A Jackson...tallied eight wins with Kissimmee, including four straight games, April 21-May 8...was promoted to Jackson on June 1 and won three straight starts, June 10- 20, including a season-high 8.0 innings vs. Arkansas, June 20...struck out 11 in his final outing August 29 vs. Tulsa...led the Arizona Fall League with a 2.41 ERA after the '97 season.
