2000
Moore started eight games in 2000 after his recall from AAA Ottawa on August 1... Took Hideki Irabu's turn in the rotation, who made his second stint on the disabled list... Started in the Majors for the first time since June 6, 1998... Missed the entire 1999 season recovering from arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder, which he underwent on August 5, 1998... Became the 12th starter used by the Expos in 2000 and a Club-record 25th different hurler... Scott Downs became the 13th different starter... Registered his first win in his first start of the season on August 1 against the Cardinals before losing five straight decisions... Allowed 25 earned runs and seven home runs in 24.2 innings of work in his seven starts before he was sidelined with stiffness in his left shoulder.
- SPECIAL K: Made his 2000 debut with Montreal on August 1 against the Cardinals, allowing just two hits in 5.0 innings of work, while striking out a career-high eight... Exited the game with a 3-0 lead thanks to a Vladimir Guerrero 3-run homer in the 5th inning... Anthony Telford and Steve Kline combined for the shutout in the 4-0 final.
- FIRST LOSS: Took the loss on August 7 at Arizona, allowing five runs (one earned) on eight hits in 5.2 innings of work... Allowed two unearned runs in the first... Allowed three runs in the sixth, two of those unearned... Left the game down 5-2 as the Expos went on to lose by the same score... Curt Schilling fired his eighth consecutive complete game against the Expos.
- HIGH HITS: Took a second straight loss on August 12 against the Rockies, allowing six runs on 11 hits in 4.2 innings of work... Allowed a home run to Neifi Perez to lead off the third inning... Allowed three more runs before his departure in the fifth as the Rockies rapped out five more hits off him... Exited the game down 6-1 en route to a 14-2 Expos loss.
- THREE STRAIGHT: Was tagged with his third straight loss on August 17 as the Giants defeated the Expos 5-4, allowing five runs on eight hits in 4.2 innings of work... Allowed four of the runs in the fourth frame, three coming on a Bobby Estalella home run... Barry Bonds connected for a solo shot in the fifth before leaving the game down 5-1.
- DODGERS: Collected a no-decision in a 14-6 Expos loss on August 21 at Los Angeles, allowing five runs on nine hits in 5.0 innings of work... Surrendered three solo homers in the game to Jim Leyritz, Devon White and mound opponent Ismael Valdes... The Expos scored three runs in the top of the 6th to even the score at 5-5... The Dodgers went out in their half of the 6th and scored nine runs on five hits including two homers by Eric Karros.
- LAST START: Tagged for his fifth straight loss on September 8 at Atlanta after allowing three runs (two earned) in 4.0 innings of work as the Expos went on to lose 3-2.
1999
Moore was sidelined the entire season recuperating from arthroscopic surgery, which was performed on August 5, 1998 to repair a torn labrum and fraying of his rotator cuff... Spent the summer rehabing at the Expos complex in Jupiter under the supervision of the coordinator of conditioning and rehabilitation, Paul Fournier... Pitched briefly in the Instructional League during the fall... Continued his rehab program during the winter at his home in Texas.
1998
Moore started the 1998 season as the Expos fifth man in the rotation, but a shoulder injury would severely shorten his freshman campaign... Was one of two rookies in the rotation to start the season, with Javier Vazquez... The two combined for 33 appearances at AA in 1997 and neither one made an appearance at AAA before making the jump to the Majors... Made 11 starts in 13 appearances until June 6... Was placed on the disabled list on June 7 with tendinitis in his left shoulder... Continued to feel discomfort in his shoulder after starting three games as of July 9 at AAA Ottawa as part of a rehab assignment... MRI on July 28 showed a slightly torn labrum and rotator cuff... Underwent arthroscopic surgery August 5 at St. Mary's Hospital in Montreal to repair a torn labrum and fraying of his rotator cuff... The successful surgery was performed by Expos orthopedic surgeon Dr. Larry Coughlin.
After putting together a 7.25 ERA in 22.2 innings in April, Moore improved his numbers in May with a 3.38 ERA in six starts (34.2 IP)... Pitched a season-long 7.0 innings on three occasions in May, including back-to-back vs the Rockies and Giants... Was skipped for two starts in April as the Expos had off days... Recorded a decision in his first seven starts (2-5) before his last four outings... Made it to the 6th inning in five of his last six starts... Allowed just one home run in last 36.2 IP.
- RELIEF: Made two relief appearances: April 10 vs Chicago, allowing four runs on six hits in 4.1 IP and April 29 at St. Louis, 0.2 IP, 1 H, WP in a 13-7 final... Was taken out of the rotation on both occasions because of an off day.
- IN THE PINCH: Went down swinging as a pinch-hitter May 2 vs Arizona after going 2-for-5, double prior to that at-bat... Was first Expos pitcher used in that role since Ken Hill on April 23, 1994 at Los Angeles (sac bunt)... Finished the campaign 4-for-17 (.235) with a double.
- DEBUT: Made his Major League debut as a starter on April 5 at Wrigley, taking the loss after allowing four runs in 3.2 innings of work... Left the game down 4-1 as the Expos went on to lose 7-2... Became the 36th pitcher in Expos history to make his big league debut as a starter, and just the fourth pure rookie in Expos history to make the starting rotation out of training camp.
- FIRST WIN/HIT: Won his first Major League game on April 15 vs Milwaukee, allowing two runs (one earned) on four hits in 6.0 innings of work... Allowed an unearned run in the 2nd before allowing an earned run in the 6th, when John Jaha doubled in Jeff Juden... Helped his own cause by going 2-for-2, with a double at the plate... Rapped out his first big league hit off Juden... Left the game with 4-2 lead as Urbina collected the save in a 4-3 final.
- OUCH!: Took the loss in a 4-1 final vs the Reds on May 4, leaving the game after getting hit by a Barry Larkin come-backer off the left hip... Was lifted after 2.2 IP, allowing two runs on five hits.
- COMBO SHUTOUT: Stopped a three-game losing streak after pitching 7.0 scoreless innings vs the Rockies on May 9... Scattered six hits and combined with Mike Maddux and Ugueth Urbina to blank the Rockies 4-0... It was Colorado's first shutout of the season... Contributed a single and a run to help his own cause.
- LAST LOSS: Was shutout on May 14 at San Francisco in Game 2 of a doubleheader, allowing two runs on six hits in 7.0 innings of work as Danny Darwin and Rob Nen combined to shutout the Expos 2-0... Was second straight game tossing 7.0 innings.
- BLOWN WIN: Collected a no-decision on May 30 at Pittsburgh after allowing four runs on seven hits in 5.0+ innings of work... Was lifted after a lead-off single in the 6th... Left the game with a 7-3 lead before reliever Shayne Bennett allowed his runner to score... Lost the winning decision after the Bucs stormed back with three runs in the 9th to win 8-7, making a loser out of closer Ugueth Urbina.
- LAST START: Made last start on June 6 at Tampa, collecting a no-decision after allowing four runs (three earned) on eight hits in 4.0 innings of work... Allowed a run in each of his innings including a home run to Wade Boggs in the third... Left the game down 4-3 before the Expos came back to win 7-5.
1997
In his first season in the Expos organization in 1997, Moore showed why he was acquired from Seattle, as he was the anchor of the Eastern League champion Harrisburg Senators staff... Finished fifth in the league in strikeouts (137) and wins (11), 10th in ERA (4.15) and co-leader in shutouts... Reached career highs in starts (27), innings pitched (162.2) and strikeouts... Named Eastern League Pitcher of the Week ending July 6 after going 2-0, 0.00 ERA in two starts, striking out 12 in 12.2 IP... Tossed a two-hitter in the first game of a doubleheader on July 18 vs Portland in a 2-0 final, striking out eight batters in the 7-inning contest... In Game 3 of the Championship Series vs Portland, struck out 11 batters in 7.2 IP in a 2-1 win, giving the Senators a 2-1 lead in the best-of-five series... Pitched 6.0 innings or more in 18 starts and fanned 10 or more three times... Went 3-1, 2.38 ERA in six starts in August... Won four games in five starts from June 14-July 6... Pitched for La Guaira in the Venezuelan Winter League, going 1-2, 5.11 ERA in five games, two starts.
1996
In 1996, participated to the Mariners Spring Training camp as a non-roster player... Experienced some difficulty in his first tour of Triple-A at Port City... Went 1-6, 7.11 ERA in 11 starts... Also pitched for Class A Lancaster in the California League.
1995
Spent the 1995 season at Class A Riverside... Finished second in the California League in wins (14) and fourth in ERA (3.09)... Fanned 10 twice, on June 6 in 4.2 innings in a no-decision vs Modesto (including five in a row at one point) and on July 19 against San Jose... Won his final six starts, August 5-September 1, going 6-0 with a 3.03 ERA during the streak.
1994
Moore began his pro career in 1994... Finished second among Northwest League starters in batting average against (.207) and third in strikeouts per nine innings (10.77)... Also ranked tied for fourth in ERA (2.63)... Tossed a three-hittter and struck out 12 in 4-1 win at Yakima on August 27... Pitched for the Mariners during the Hall of Fame Game against Philadelphia on August 1 and picked up a save with two innings of no-hit relief... Attended Arizona Instructional League and posted a 2.57 ERA in six games.
