Jaret was again riddled with right shoulder problems in 2000, forcing him onto the disabled list two more times and ended his season after just 9 starts after shoulder surgery in August...Has been on the disabled list four times over the last two years with various shoulder ailments.

Jaret won the first two starts of the season for the second consecutive year, but lost his next two decisions to even his record at 2-2...Tossed the 2nd complete game and shutout of his major league career in his 2nd start of the season on April 12 in Oakland in the 5-0 Tribe win....Limited the A's to just 5 singles (2BB) and did not allow a runner past first base while fanning six batters...Took a no-hitter into the 7th inning in his 4th start at Seattle on April 26, getting a no-decision in the Tribe's 5-3 10.0 inning win (7.0IP, 2H, 2R/ER), before allowing a single to Stan Javier to lead off the 7th inning.

Left his 7th start of the year after 7.2 shutout innings and 100 pitches vs. Kansas City on May 11 with tightness in his right shoulder...His next start was pushed back to May 20 before he complained of more soreness in the shoulder and went on the 15-day disabled list on May 18 (retroactive to May 12 with a strained muscle in his right shoulder)...Was activated off the DL on May 27 for a start at Chicago (AL)...His 1.1IP stint in the May 27 start at Chicago (AL) was the shortest regular season start of his major league career (2.0IP was previous worst)...Went 0.2IP in game 1 of the 1998 ALCS at New York.

Had surgery in Los Angeles, CA by Dr. Lewis Yocum on August 17 and was lost for the season...Yocum repaired the labrum and repaired some fraying in the rotator cuff in the procedure...Is expected to begin a throwing program in December of 2000...Spent 136 days on the disabled list in 2000. Had an up and down year and was bothered by the injury bug for the first time in his major league career... Made only eight starts in the second half and won just one game after the reak...Was on the 15-day disabled list with a strain of the sub-scapularis muscle behind his right shoulder two times in the 2nd half...Was on the disabled list from 7/19-8/3 after leaving his start at Houston on 7/18 (5.0IP, 3H, 1R) and again from 8/9 until his activation on 9/10 after leaving his start of 8/8 at Tampa Bay after 2.0+IP (4H, 2R)...Made just 2 starts between his two stints on the DL...Marked his first two career trips to the DL at the big league level...Made rehab. starts at AAA Buffalo (3.0IP, 0H, 0R, 4K) on Sept. 2 & at AA Akron (5.0IP, 3H, 0R, 6K) on 9/6...After his second activation he went 1-3 w/a 6.65 ERA (23.0IP, 25H, 17ER, 12BB, 18SO)...His win in his start on 9/22 at Detroit was his first since 7/7 (7GS w/o a win) & his only win of the second half... Jaret enjoyed a solid season in his first full Major League campaign...Rebounded from a slow start to post productive numbers after posting a mark of 1-3 with a 5.86 ERA over his first 8 starts (43.0IP, 51H, 28ER)...
