2007

Was signed by the A's as a free agent to a minor league contract on March 30 after he was released by San Diego on March 26 and made the A's Opening Day roster...hit .271 with no home runs and four RBI in 18 games, including nine starts at first base, before he was designated for assignment on May 12...was released on May 17 and did not play again in 2007...the A's were his seventh team in 12 Major League seasons and he batted .289 with 107 home runs and 545 RBI in 1288 career games...hit .313 (10 for 32) against right-handed pitching in 2007 and .188 (3 for 16) against lefthanders... was 2 for 6 (.333) with three RBI as a pinch hitter...tied Shannon Stewart for the team lead in pinch RBI and tied Stewart and Marco Scutaro for the lead in pinch hits...batted .348 (8 for 23) with three of his four RBI in the seventh inning or later...hit .267 with three doubles and one RBI in 16 spring training games with the A's and San Diego, including .600 (3 for 5) in two games with the A's...had the game tying pinch hit single in the bottom of the ninth inning of the A's 2-1 win on April 10 against Chicago...started six consecutive games at first base from April 11 to 18 and put together a season best five-game hitting streak over the last five starts of that stretch (6 for 23, .261)...made his only start of the season at designated hitter on April 21 at Texas and was 0 for 4...made his second career appearance in the outfield on April 27 when he played left field...the other was on August 24, 2004 while playing for the Cubs, also in left field...went 2 for 3 in his final game on May 10 at Kansas City.

He began 2006 with the Cubs, where he hit .277 (88-for-318) with six homers, 16 doubles, and 40 RBIs. Walker was traded to the Padres on July 31 for Minor League pitcher Jose Ceda. With San Diego, he played in 44 games, hitting .282 (35-for-124) with three home runs, six doubles and 13 RBIs.

2005

Todd batted .305 with 25 doubles, 12 home runs and 40 RBI - missed nearly two months of the season after sustaining a knee injury...the second baseman saw action in 110 games - and surpassed the .300 mark for the first time since 2000, when he hit .316 in 57 games for Colorado...made his seventh career Opening Day start April 4, going 3-for-4 with an RBI...was placed on the disabled list April 11 with a moderate to severe medial collateral ligament sprain to his left knee...sustained the injury in the game on April 10 when he collided with Milwaukee's Carlos Lee at second base while attempting to turn a double play...had a rehab stint in Iowa (AAA), where he hit .216 (8-37) with 3 RBI and 3 runs in nine games...was reinstated to the active list May 25...hit his first homer of the year on May 29 off Colorado's Jose Acevedo...the solo shot was his first career pinchhomer...had a 12-game hitting streak from July 5-19...batted .373 (19-51) with 4 doubles, 4 homers and 9 RBI...also had a 10-game hitting streak from August 8-20, batting .375 (15-40) with 2 homers and 3 RBI...credited with 7 game-winning RBI and 2 game-tying RBI for the season...hit a 10th-inning, bases-loaded, walkoff single September 13 against Cincinnati...the one-out single off David Weathers gave the Cubs a 4-3 win...had the game-winning hit September 30 at Houston, a pinch-hit single in the ninth inning...it was his first appearance since leaving the game September 23 with a strained right knee.
