Is the 6th Red Sox manager born in New England and 2nd from Connecticut, joining Meriden's Jack Barry, who managed the club in 1917 ... Owns an 1,117-1,072 (.510) Major League managerial record over parts of 15 seasons with the Rangers (1985-92) and Mets (1996-2002)...Ranks 4th among active managers in games (2,189) and 5th in wins ... Has been ejected 37 times as a Major League manager and 40 times overall in the Big Leagues, including twice as a player and once as a coach ...
