Batted .233 (147-for-630) with 22 HR, 101 RBI and a cereer-high 25 SB in 158 games...was 3rd in the A.L. in at bats (630) and 4th in sac flies (10th)...also led Oakland in runs (77), HR and RBI...Was seventh player in history with 100+ RBI and average below .240 (.233)...played in 150 or more games for the seventh consecutive season.

Combined to hit .278 (167-for-601) with 17 HR and 87 RBI in 151 games for Texas and Oakland...appeared in 27 games for the Oakalnd after being acquired from Texas on 8/31...batted .333 (8-for- 24) with 1 HR and team-high 7 RBI in the 6-game ALCS vs. Toronto...was the Rangers' all-time leader in homers, RBI, total bases, doubles, and runs at time of trade to Oakland...led club in batting (.278), doubles (34), and triples (7)...became the only Ranger to ever homer in an All-Star game with blast off Bob Tewksbury in San Diego.

Joined Rangers for 1st time on 6/1 and homered in second big league at bat for first hit off Charlie Leibrandt in Kansas City that day...went on to set then club record for triples (10), 2nd most in A.L....was leading the American Association in homers (9), RBI (41), and total bases (98) in Oklahoma City at time of recall.

Played the entire season for Tulsa in the Texas League, batting .253 (138-for-545) with 13 HR and 74 RBI in 137 games...led the league in at bats, games and triples (8).
