Began the season with the Yankees' Triple-A affiliate in Columbus and was recalled on April 26 when David Weathers was designated for assignment...was sent back to Columbus on July 10 when Hideki Irabu was recalled from AAA and was brought back to the big league club on July 28 when Irabu was sent to Columbus...traded places one more time with Irabu on August 13 and remained at Columbus for the remainder of the season...appeared in 25 games for the Yankees, all in relief, with one hold and no saves...was one save short (11) of tying for the team lead at Columbus.

Split the season between Columbus and New York in his first year in the Yankees organization...earned his first trip to the big league club on May 1 when Dion James was released...recalled a total of three times during the season...recorded his first major league win in his third appearance of the season, May 7 vs. Detroit, giving up one run in 0.2 innings...surrendered just one earned run over a span of 10 appearances (12.2 ip) from May 10-June 13.

Was promoted to Seattle on September 1 after spending the entire season with Tacoma...made two appearances for the Mariners, his first big league action...made his major league debut September 4 at Yankee Stadium, giving up one unearned run on four hits in 3.2 innings of work in Seattlebs 13-3 loss...made 40 relief appearances for Tacoma, giving up 24 runs in 69.2 innings.

Was converted into a reliever at Jacksonville and posted the third-highest save total in the Mariners farm system with 13...ranked fifth in the Southern League in games finished (34) and tied for fifth in saves...pitched for Peoria in the Arizona Fall League, going 2-2 with a 3.19 ERA in 16 appearances.
