Returned to the Indians for the 3rd time in his career as he has now spent all or parts of 10 seasons in the Indians organizations... Ranks among franchise leaders in stolen bases (1st, 452), hits (9th, 1512) and runs scored (3rd, 975)... Is the active career leader in stolen bases among Major League players with 622, which ranks 15th all-time in the history of MLB...Was acquired from the Rangers on July 27 for minor league CA Max Ramirez ... Signed as a free agent on December 20, 2005, the 10th team for which he has played...is one of just nine...players to play for 10 teams in MLB history...had a very productive 16th season in the Major Leagues as the Dodgers' primary center fielder...Hit .301, scored 79 runs and stole 32 bases, which was second on the team and 11th in the NL...was caught stealing just five times and ranked sixth in the NL in stolen base percentage (86.5)...Finished the season with 599 stolen bases, the most among active Major Leaguers and 16th place all-time...during the year, he surpassed Hugh Duffy, Ozzie Smith, George Van Haltren, Maury Wills and Dummy Hoy...Also finished 2006 with 1,442 career runs scored, which is 68th place on the all-time runs list...Appeared in 129 games, which is the most he had played in since the 2003 season with Pittsburgh and Chicago (NL)...it marked the most he has played in with one team since he appeared in 133 with Cleveland in 2001...Hit 12 triples, which was tied for fourth in the NL, were the second most ever by a Los Angeles Dodger, behind Willie Davis' 16 in 1962...the 12 triples are the second-highest total of his career and the most he has stroked since establishing his career-high in 1995 with 13... he and Steve Finley were the first players to register 12 or more triples at the age of 39 or older since Joe Kuhel had 13 in 1945...Hit .319 against right-handed pitching, along with 13 doubles, 12 triples, two home runs and 35 RBI...also hit .322 (76-for-236) away from Dodger Stadium...batted .357 (41-for-115) in day games...Hit .317 (33-for-104) with six doubles and 36 RBI with runners in scoring position and .295 (18-for-61) in close and late situations...Hit .296 and stole 15 bases in 63 games before the All-Star break and batted .306 with 16steals in 65 games after the Midsummer Classic...Had four outfield assists and made just three errors, good for a .988 fielding percentage...Began the season on the DL with a strained left calf and was activated April 14, missing the first 10 contests...Hit his 100th career-triple on April 22 vs. Arizona...his 110 triples are second to Steve Finley (124) among active Major Leaguers...Had a season-high four hits in just his 11th game as a Dodger, going 4-for-6 with a double, RBI, run and stolen base at Houston on April 25...Had two nine-game hitting streaks from April 18-30 and from Sept. 21 through the end of the season...Hit .326 (29-for-89) with a .378 on-base percentage in the month of May...Cracked his first homer as a Dodger and the 121st of his career on July 25 vs. the Padres...Had a torrid August, batting .348 (32-for-92) with 14 runs scored, seven stolen bases and an on-base percentage of .417...had 10 multi-hit games and three of his nine three-hit games during that month...cracked the NL batting leaders on Aug. 21...stole two bases in a game four times, with the most recent coming on Sept. 17 vs. San Diego...Scored a run in nine consecutive games from April 21-May 2, a Dodger season high...Was successful in his first 11 stolen base attempts and 19 consecutive dating back to 2005...On June 2, hosted a clinic at the Urban Youth Academy in Compton, CA...Took part in the Dodger caravan on February 8...Has appeared in the postseason nine times (17 series) entering 2006, including the World Series in 1995 and 2002.

Had the highest batting average (.335) among NL hitters with at least 350 at-bats ... After the first five games of the season, his average never dipped below .307 ... In his first season with New York Yankees, made 62 starts in center field, five in right field and three as designated hitter ... Went 67 consecutive plate appearances without striking out from May 16 - July 7, the longest streak of his career (previous long was 65 plate appearances in 1996) ... Also went 35 consecutive plate appearances without a strikeout from July 19 - Aug. 15 ... Made his first career appearance in right field on July 31 vs. Baltimore, and his first career start in right field on Aug. 9. vs. Toronto ... Collected the 2,000th hit of his career with a fourth inning single on Aug. 25 at Cleveland.
2003
Began the season with Pittsburgh and reached base safely in each of his first 22 road games ... Batted .406 (43-for-106) with 15 multi-hit games during his 26-game hitting streak from April 29-May 30, which fell one game shy of the club record held by Jimmy Williams (1899) ... Set the club record for consecutive games with a hit by a left-handed batter (previously held by Charlie Grimm in 1923 - 25 games) ... Was traded to Chicago on July 22 ... Had his 265-game errorless streak in center field snapped on Aug. 23 at Arizona...the streak, which began on Oct. 3, 2001, had been the longest streak among big league outfielders ... Batted .308 (16-for-52) with 11 runs in 12 postseason games.

Began the season with the White Sox and ended with San Francisco, helping the Giants reach the World Series ... Stole his 500th career base on June 7 vs. Montreal ... Hit his 100th career homer on July 19 at Baltimore off Rodrigo Lopez ... Traded to San Francisco on July 28...homered in his first plate appearance as a Giant on July 30 at Philadelphia (Brett Myers) ... Hit .317 in his final 25 games of the season ... All of his 11 home runs were solo shots ... Hit the NLCS-winning single in the ninth inning vs. St. Louis ... Had consecutive three-hit games in Games 4 & 5 of the World Series vs. Anaheim.

Named to Cleveland's All-Century Team prior to his ninth season with the Indians ... Ranked seventh in the AL with 30 infield hits ... Cleveland went 31-8 (.795) in his 39 multi-hit games ... Homered in consecutive games for the first time from June 26-27 at the Yankees...repeated the feat from July 16-17 at Houston and Aug. 26 and Aug. 28 at Seattle and vs. Boston.
2000
Reached career highs in homers (15) and RBI (73) ... Scored 100 runs for the sixth time in his career and third straight season ... Played on Opening Day, April 3 at Baltimore despite offseason surgery to repair his right rotator cuff, an injury that originally was scheduled to sideline him through the All-Star break ... Tied a Major League record after scoring a run in 18 straight games from Aug. 15-Sept. 3...the original record was set by the Yankees' Red Rolfe in 1939.
1999
Was hampered by an injured right hamstring for nearly half the season, yet posted his fifth 100-run season ... Named to his sixth straight All-Star game (fourth election)...collected an infield hit and scored a run in the game ... Suffered a dislocated left shoulder in Game 5 of the ALDS vs. Boston while sliding into first base...initial X-rays were negative but an MRI in November revealed a torn rotator cuff, which required offseason surgery.

Named to his fifth straight All-Star team (third election) ... Ranked second in the AL with 54 stolen bases but led the league with a 84.4% success rate (54-for-64) ...
