Veteran right-hander originally inked free agent deal with SF over winter, and came to Spring Training as non-roster invitee...requested, and was granted, his unconditional release March 30, but signed minor league contract with Giants April 7...has made 407 big league appearances (7 starts) over parts of 7 ML seasons, logging 24-33 mark with 10 saves and solid 3.85 ERA...originally selected by Chicago White Sox in 1991 draft, has seen big league action with White Sox (1996-97), Texas (1998), Anaheim (1999-2002), Tampa Bay (2003), Kansas City (2003) and Detroit (2004)...has made at least 50 appearances in each of last 6 seasons (1999-2004)...earned World Series ring with Angels in 2002, although he was not on post season roster. Logged pair of seasons at Harper Junior College, before finishing collegiate career with 2 campaigns at Southern Illinois University...was teammate of NBA legend Michael Jordan on 1994 Birmingham Barons club...married (Linda)...son (Anthony).
