**JOHNSON RESUME** Former World Series winning skipper was first named Nationals manager on June 26, 2011...in 16 seasons, has authored 6 division titles ('12 Nationals, '97 Orioles, '95 Reds, '94 Reds, '88 Mets, '86 Mets), one pennant ('86 Mets) and one World Championship ('86 Mets) during his stellar managerial career...joins Billy Martin (MIN, DET, NYY, OAK) as the only managers to take 4 different teams to the postseason...is a 2-time recipient of the BBWAA's Manager of the Year award (NL/Washington in 2012, AL/Baltimore in 1997)...the 15-year duration between citations is the largest in the history of the BBWAA's Manager of the Year Award, which was founded in 1983...previously skippered NYM, CIN, BAL and LAD for a combined 14 seasons...has posted .566 (1286-995 record) winning percentage as big league skipper, which is tops among living managers with 10 or more years of experience...in 15 seasons as big league manager, has finished first or 2nd 12 times and notched seven 90-win campaigns (the 1994 Reds were on pace for 94 wins and led the NL Central at the time of the work stoppage)...1986 and '88 Mets registered triple-digit win totals, posting 108 and 100 victories, respectively...postseason resume includes 4 postseason series wins ('86 World Series, '86 NLCS, 1996 and '97 ALDS), 5 series losses ('88 NLCS, '95 NLDS, 1996-97 ALCS, '12 NLDS) and a 22-25 (.468) overall October record...is one of only 6 living men to have won a World Series ring as a player and manager, joining Alvin Dark, Joe Girardi, Lou Piniella, Mike Scioscia and Red Schoendienst...managed Team USA to a semi-finals berth in the 2009 World Baseball Classic...has managed or coached 5 Team USA professional squads since 2005, including the 2008 Olympic team... was among the 10 finalists for consideration among Managers and Umpires for Hall of Fame election through the Veterans Committee in 2009. **WITH THE NATIONALS** Returns for 3rd season at the Nationals' helm...on Nov. 10, 2012, jointly announced with the Nationals that '13 will be final managerial campaign before shifting to a consultant position with the Nationals in '14...was named the 4th manager in Nationals history on June 26, 2011 and was in uniform the following day to skipper first game, June 27 at LAA...in little more than a season-and-a-half as Washington manager, record is 138-107 (.563)...led the '12 Nationals to an MLB-best 98 wins, an NL East title and DC's first postseason berth in 79 years...also in '12, Washington either led the NL East or shared its top spot for all but 10 days, and by season's end, owned the best run differential (+137) in MLB...guided club to 40-43 mark over 83 games in 2011 during first season in Nationals dugout...joined Washington on November 18, 2009 as Senior Advisor to Executive VP of Baseball Operations and General Manager Mike Rizzo. **PLAYING EXPERIENCE** Hit .261 with 136 homers and 609 RBI in 1,435 games spanning 13 big league seasons with the Orioles, Braves, Phillies and Cubs...playing career also included a 2-year stint (1975-76) in Japan with the Yomiuri Giants (Central League)...was a 4-time All-Star, won 3 Gold Gloves, played in 5 postseasons and earned a pair of World Series rings with the O's in 1966 and '70...is the only player to have hit behind both Hank Aaron and Japan's all-time home run king, Sadaharu Oh.
