Was limited to a career-low 40 games with the Angels due to irritation in his right ankle from a bone spur ... made his 10th consecutive Opening Day start, the third-longest streak in franchise history ... collected his 1,500th career hit on 4/21 at Oakland ... was on the disabled list from 5/1-6/11 and again from 6/18-8/31, including two rehabilitation assignments ... was reinstated from the disabled list on 9/1 ... was a late-inning defensive replacement in all 12 of his September appearances ... underwent arthroscopic surgery on the ankle on 10/6.
2005
