From 2009-2011, he was the pitching coach for New York's Buffalo (AAA) team of the International League.
In 2007 and 2008, he was with Binghamton (AA) of the Eastern League.
In 2006, he helped St. Lucie (A) of the Florida State League to a championship.
From 2004-2005, he was with the Montreal Expos/Washington Nationals organization...In 2005, he was the pitching

2000
- Made his third return to the National League in 2000, pitching in the NL for the first time since 1997... marked his first full season in the National League,
having pitched in 11 games (all starts) with San Diego in 1991 and nine games (two starts) with Cincinnati in 1997.
- Opened his Marlins campaign by throwing 10 straight scoreless appearances, allowing only eight hits, eight walks and five strikeouts, facing 63 batters in 15.2 innings pitched.
- Ranked third in the Majors in relief ERA in April (minimum of 10.0 IP) allowing one run in 19.1 IP (0.47 ERA), behind only Matt Herges (0 ER in 15.0 IP) and Bob Wickman (0 ER in 10.1 IP).
- Made his Marlins debut in the sixth inning on April 4 vs. San Francisco with the Marlins trailing the Giants 3-0... held San Francisco to one hit, a J.T. Snow eighth inning single, through nine batters faced, and then ended the inning by inducing Ellis Burks to ground into a double play.

- Allowed one earned run in his first 14 appearances of the season, spanning 24.1 innings pitched, for a 0.37 earned run average.
- Recorded a 0.33 earned run average over his first 18 home games, allowing one earned run on 20 hits, with seven walks and 15 strikeouts over 27.2 innings pitched.
- Allowed only nine earned runs in his first 32 appearances, spanning 50.1 innings pitched, for a 1.61 earned run average... saw his ERA rise from 1.61 to 4.54 over his final 24 games pitched, allowing 30 earned runs in 27.0 innings of work for a 10.00 ERA.
- His ERA was above 2.00 only once in his first 32 games pitched... his ERA reached 2.04 following a 7-6 loss at Tampa Bay on June 11 where he allowed three runs on four hits in one inning, including a two-run homer by Bubba Trammell... following that game, allowed one earned run in 15.0 innings over his next 11 games, from June 13 through July 8, for a 0.60 ERA, lowering his season ERA to 1.61.
- Recorded his first victory as a Marlin in Florida's Interleague opener on June 2 vs. Toronto... marked his first win in a span of 51 games, since September 14, 1998 vs. Oakland (while with Kansas City), his first career National League relief win and first victory in the NL since September 13, 1991 at San Francisco while pitching for the San Diego Padres... recorded his second career RBI with a fourth inning sacrifice fly off Clayton Andrews, scoring Alex Gonzalez.
- Finished the season tied for 14th in the National League with 77.1 innings pitched.
- Threw two or more innings in an outing 20 times, including three-plus innings four times, all in the month of April (3.0 IP on April 4 vs. San Francisco, 3.0 IP on April 16 at Chicago, 3.0 IP on April 25 vs. San Francisco and 3.2 IP on April 29 at Los Angeles).
- Placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 6, on May 11 with a strained lower back... reinstated from the disabled list on May 21 and threw 2.0 shutout innings against the Dodgers.
- Recorded his second victory on June 18 at Pittsburgh, allowing one run on two hits, with one walk and two strikeouts, in 2.0 innings... entered the game with a 4-3 Marlins lead and allowed a John Vander Wal RBI single to even the game at 4-4... a Mike Lowell RBI single gave the Marlins a 5-4 victory.
- Allowed season highs of six runs and eight hits in two innings of relief in a 17-7 loss to Montreal on July 22... the outing broke Bones' streak of only one earned run allowed in 27.2 innings.
1999
- Signed as a free agent to a Minor League contract by Baltimore December 21, 1998.
- Allowed a total of three runs and 15 hits in nine April appearances, covering a total of 16.2 innings... finished the month with an 0-1 record and 1.62 ERA.
- Allowed three hits over 4.1 scoreless innings April 20 at Tampa Bay... tossed perfect 1-2-3 inning in 4-2 win at Florida June 9 in only appearance against Marlins.
- Spent 15 days on the disabled list July 2-17 with right arm fatigue.
- Made two starts after Juan Guzman was traded to Cincinnati... picked up a loss August 3 at Oakland (four runs and seven hits in 2.2 innings)... earned no-decision in a 10-inning loss August 8 vs. Detroit (two runs and three hits in 3.2 innings).
- Made two scoreless relief outings following his two starts in August before being given his unconditional release on August 20.
- Retired 18 of 28 first batters faced out of the bullpen... protected a lead or tie in eight of the 12 times one was handed to him.
- Pitched for Caguas in Puerto Rican Winter League this past offseason... posted a 4-4 record with a 2.61 ERA in 13 games, 12 of which were starts... added to roster of Puerto Rican Champion Santurce for Carribean World Series and drew start in first game.
1998
- Began season with Minnesota's AAA affiliate at Salt Lake City before being released by Twins May 22... signed as a Minor League free agent by Kansas City May 26 and assigned to AAA Omaha.
- Made three starts at Omaha before having contract purchased by Kansas City on June 16... made his Royals debut June 19 at Detroit and worked 4.0 shutout innings for his first career save.
- Allowed two runs over his first 11.0 innings with Royals... recorded a 2.37 ERA (eight earned runs in 30.1 innings) over his first 18 appearances.
- Recorded six straight scoreless appearances August 18-September 17... had wins in back-to-back outings September 4 at Anaheim and September 14 vs. Oakland.
- Finished with a 3.04 ERA in 32 appearances, all in relief, for Kansas City.
1997
- Began season with Cincinnati and was released by Reds on May 6... signed by Milwaukee May 12... contract was claimed off waivers by Kansas City June 26.
- Recorded a season-high six strikeouts August 3 vs. Boston.
- Threw the 11th complete game of his career August 19 vs. Baltimore, marking his first since September 18, 1995.
1996
- Made his second consecutive Opening Day start April 2 for Milwaukee vs. California.
- Recorded a three-game win streak June 4-25.
- Delivered a career-high seven strikeouts July 20 vs. New York (AL).
- Pitched a season-high eight shutout innings August 3 vs. Oakland.
- Traded to Yankees along with infielder Gabby Martinez on August 29 to complete an earlier trade which sent pitcher Bob Wickman and outfielder Gerald Williams to Milwaukee in exchange for pitcher Graeme Lloyd and infielder Pat Listach.
- Was 7-13 with a 6.13 ERA in 24 starts and 0-1 with a 6.88 ERA in 12 relief outings.
1995
- Led Brewers in wins and starts and tied for the team lead in complete games... set career high with 77 strikeouts.
- Tied for fourth in the American League and tied his career best with 31 starts.
- Made the first Opening Day start of his career on April 26 vs. Chicago (AL)... earned no-decision after allowing two runs and five hits in 4.1 innings.
- Followed with back-to-back wins in his second and third starts of season, tossing a total of 15.1 scoreless innings... combined for a two-hit shutout May 1 at Baltimore... also pitched into the eighth inning May 6 at New York (AL), allowing no runs and seven hits while striking out a season-high six batters.
- Tossed complete games June 2 vs. Kansas City, July 8 at California and September 18 vs. Boston.
- Made his only relief appearance of the season August 21 vs. Kansas City, marking his first outing from the bullpen since May 11, 1993.
