When he singled against the Dodgers on July 1, Anderson became the only Angels player to amass 2,000 hits and 1,000 RBIs all with the franchise. The left fielder tied for second on the Angels with 85 RBIs in 2006 and was third with 17 home runs. Anderson has recorded 80 or more RBIs in seven of his last eight seasons. After hitting .261 before the All-Star break, Anderson hit .302 during the season's second half. He was limited much of the season by various ailments, including plantar faciitis in his left foot, back spasms and a sore hamstring. On May 28, Anderson passed Brian Downing (1,661) for the most games played in team history.
