TUESDAY
3:30 p.m ET – Salt River (AZ, COL, MIN, NYY, WSH) @ Peoria (ATL, MIA, MIL, SD, SEA)
The Rafters feature an excellent infield, with organization-mates Tommy Troy (AZ No. 5) and Gino Groover (AZ No. 9) at second and third, respectively, and Skyler Messinger (Rockies) and Caleb Durbin (Yankees) at first and shortstop. The Javalinas have a few star infielders of their own in Romeo Sanabria (SD No. 23) and Juan Baez (MIL No. 27) at first and second. Gameday »
3:30 p.m. ET – Glendale (CIN, CWS, LAD, PHI, STL) @ Surprise (BAL, CLE, HOU, KC, TEX)
This will be the final AFL start for Glendale righty Andrew Painter (PHI No. 2/MLB No. 32), and his return from Tommy John surgery this fall couldn't have gone much better. The first-round pick from 2021 has been as electric as he was before missing two full seasons because of the injury. Painter is 1-0 with a league-leading 2.08 ERA, and he has 12 strikeouts and just two walks in 13 innings across five starts. He'll face a talented lineup in his AFL finale. Surprise is led by the red-hot Alejandro Osuna (TEX No. 16) and slugging first baseman Jac Caglianone (KC No. 1/MLB No. 17). Gameday »
3:30 p.m. ET – Mesa (BOS, CHC, LAA, ATH, TB) @ Scottsdale (DET, NYM, PIT, SF, TOR)
With Mesa, there is always a chance for a slugfest. The Solar Sox lineup is full of power and thump, with boppers like Niko Kavadas (LAA No. 29), Brooks Brannon (BOS No. 27) and Xavier Isaac (TB No. 2/MLB No. 36). Scottsdale can hit the ball out of the ballpark also, led by slugging first baseman Josue Briceño (DET No. 9), the breakout star of the Fall League this year. Gameday »
WEDNESDAY
3:30 p.m. ET – Salt River (AZ, COL, MIN, NYY, WSH) @ Surprise (BAL, CLE, HOU, KC, TEX)
No AFL team runs like the Rafters, in large part due to spark plug and league stolen-base leader Caleb Durbin (Yankees), who is coming off a strong performance in the Fall Stars Game. He and the rest of the Rafters' speedy lineup will be a challenge for Surprise's catching crops, though with Carter Jensen (KC No. 5) and Creed Willems (BAL No. 22), the Saguaros' backstops are some of the most talented in the Fall League. Gameday »
3:30 p.m. ET – Scottsdale (DET, NYM, PIT, SF, TOR) @ Peoria (ATL, MIA, MIL, SD, SEA)
Scottsdale has the benefit of being able to plug Fall Stars Game MVP Thayron Liranzo (DET No. 6) in behind the plate, as well as the AFL's home run leader in Josue Briceño (DET No. 9) into its powerful lineup. That's a challenge for any pitching staff, and the Javelinas entered Week 6 with the highest team ERA in the AFL. On that staff, relievers Landon Harper (Braves) and Nick Merkel (Brewers) have been bright spots so far this fall. Gameday »
6 p.m. – Licey vs. Gigantes
This is a heavyweight battle. The Tigres del Licey have more ranked prospects on their team than any other winter ball squad, with four: shortstop Jordan Lawlar (AZ No. 1/MLB No. 9), infielders Orelvis Martinez (TOR No. 2) and Roderick Arias (NYY No. 4), and corner bat Yunior Severino (MIN No. 25). Meanwhile, Gigantes del Cibao has the reigning Minor League home run champion in Deyvison De Los Santos (MIA No. 4) and talented outfielder Raylin Heredia (PHI No. 30).
8:30 p.m. ET – Glendale (CIN, CWS, LAD, PHI, STL) @ Mesa (BOS, CHC, LAA, ATH, TB)
Mesa is the highest-scoring team in the AFL, and it also leads the circuit in homers and non-homer extra-base hits. The Solar Sox's lineup has a lot of firepower, including Cubs standouts Jonathon Long (CHC No. 30) and Moises Ballesteros (CHC No. 4/MLB No. 44), and both of them are swinging red-hot bats right now. Glendale, meanwhile, is home to one of the hottest hitters in Arizona in Gabriel Rincones Jr. (PHI No. 11), who led AFL batters in hits in Week 5 of circuit play. The Desert Dogs also feature one of the game’s top middle infield prospects in Edwin Arroyo (CIN No. 3/MLB No. 65) as well as his organization-mate Christian Encarnacion-Strand, one of the few AFL players with big league time. THURSDAY
3:30 p.m ET – Surprise (BAL, CLE, HOU, KC, TEX) @ Salt River (AZ, COL, MIN, NYY, WSH)
Surprise entered the final week of the AFL regular season with a sizable first-place lead and appearing playoff-bound. The Saguaros will play their final regular-season game against Salt River, which, on the other hand, figures to need to fight to ensure itself a playoff berth. If the Rafters reach the postseason, it'll be because of contributions from guys like Tommy Troy (AZ No. 5) and Robert Hassell III (WSH No. 13), both of whom entered the final week with more hits than games played this fall.
Gameday »
3:30 p.m. ET – Peoria (ATL, MIA, MIL, SD, SEA) @ Mesa (BOS, CHC, LAA, ATH, TB)
The Javelinas' season will end here against Mesa in its regular-season finale, while Mesa could play itself into the postseason with a strong final week. Whether the Solar Sox do or not, they will remember the big contributions players like team hits leader Tre' Morgan (TB No. 10) and slugger Niko Kavadas (LAA No. 29) made to the 2024 team. Gameday »
3:30 p.m. ET – Scottsdale (DET, NYM, PIT, SF, TOR) @ Glendale (CIN, CWS, LAD, PHI, STL)
It's more likely that the Scorpions play spoiler this week than it is that they leapfrog several teams in the standings, and Glendale entered the week tied for second place, so it has a lot to lose. Whether the Desert Dogs get to the postseason, and how far they advance, might depend on how well they can deal with Josue Briceño (DET No. 9), Sammy Siani (Pirates) and the rest of Scottsdale's very strong lineup.
