Nola, Walker join MLB players through the Home Plate Project to feed kids affected by COVID-19 school closures.

The Phillies’ Aaron Nola and Neil Walker are taking part in a league-wide initiative to provide more than four million meals to students who are fighting childhood hunger in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Home Plate Project - which has raised nearly $1 million - is a partnership between Big League Impact, Garth Brooks’Teammates for Kids Foundation and Major League Baseball.

The Phillies front office joined 27 other MLB teams and volunteered to participate in a massive nationwide COVID-19 antibody study, helping researchers get a better understanding of how pervasive the coronavirus is.

The Phillies provided free access to the City of Philadelphia Office of Emergency Management to utilize the ballpark’s parking lots as a drive-up COVID-19 testing site. The site was open until April 10.
