CLEVELAND -- Add another doubleheader to the Guardians’ docket.

The series opener between the Yankees and Guardians was postponed Friday night due to inclement weather and will be made up as part of a split doubleheader at 12:10 p.m. ET on Saturday. The regularly scheduled 6:10 p.m. game will take place as scheduled.

Aaron Civale was slated to start the series opener on Friday and will now start the nightcap of the doubleheader on Saturday. Triston McKenzie, who was supposed to start Saturday, will now be pushed back to Sunday. To keep the regular five-man rotation on schedule, the Guardians will call up Kirk McCarty as their 27th man to start against Gerrit Cole in Game 1.

Fans may use their tickets for the July 1 contest to enter Saturday’s 12:10 p.m. matchup. A separate ticket for the nightcap will be needed to be in attendance for both games. Those with tickets who cannot attend Game 1 can exchange their tickets for one of 44 game options. Tickets must be exchanged by noon ET on Saturday.

The Guardians will now play three doubleheaders in one week after playing two against the Twins on Tuesday and already having a twin bill scheduled for Monday in Detroit. Saturday will mark Cleveland’s sixth doubleheader of the season.
