Sevy will start 1st game as CC goes in nightcap; Happ to debut Sunday
NEW YORK -- Friday night's game between the Yankees and the Royals at Yankee Stadium has been postponed due to inclement weather.
The game will be made up on Saturday as part of a day-night doubleheader, with Game 1 starting at 1:05 p.m. ET and Game 2 slated for 7:05 ET.
Luis Severino will still get the start in the afternoon, and Carsten Sabathia will take the mound in the nightcap. The Royals will start Brad Keller in the first game and Heath Fillmyer in the second.
Yankees manager Aaron Boone said that J.A. Happ will make his Yankees debut in the series finale against Kansas City on Sunday, pushing Masahiro Tanaka's start back to Tuesday against the Orioles.
Fans holding paid tickets for Friday night's game may use them for the rescheduled game Saturday night or exchange their paid tickets for any regular-season game at Yankee Stadium through the end of the 2019 season. Exchanges may be made at Yankee Stadium ticket windows Saturday morning beginning a 9 a.m. ET and at any other times the ticket windows are open during the season.
