BOSTON -- If you want to relive the glorious World Series ride by the 2018 Red Sox in cinematic form, the opportunity will be there on Monday night when the MLB-produced documentary "2018 World Series: Damage Done" will be unveiled at Emerson Colonial Theatre in Boston's historic Theater District.
Tickets for the event, which includes red carpet festivities at 6 p.m. ET and the start of the film at 7 p.m., are available for $30.
Four very special guests -- the championship trophies from 2004, '07, '13 and '18 -- will be on display at the event.
Manager Alex Cora, president of baseball operations Dave Dombrowski and team president Sam Kennedy will be among those in the audience for the film that chronicles Boston's epic 11-3 run in the postseason and hits on some of the highlights from the team's franchise record of 108 wins during the regular season.
Judging by some of the preview clips, the film will be captivating to any Red Sox follower.
You will get dramatic slow-motion footage of Chris Sale striking out Manny Machado for the final out of the World Series at Dodger Stadium and close-ups of the players piling out of the dugout. The MLB Productions microphones capture the voices of the joyous players celebrating their crowning accomplishment.
And the retrospective interviews with key participants capture what the players were feeling in that moment in time.
"Nobody's talking about it. Nobody wants to say it, but we're all sitting there thinking it. 'Come on, Chris. Come on, Chris,'" said J.D. Martinez of what those final seconds of anticipation were like before Machado whiffed badly at Sale's wicked slider.
"I threw that pitch with everything I had," said Sale, as the camera then pans to catcher Christian Vazquez leaping into his arms.
MLB has produced the official World Series film annually since 1943. As always, the captivating cinematography and behind-the-scenes access are what makes the film so enjoyable.
Uzo Aduba, the Emmy Award-winning actress of the hit Netflix series "Orange Is the New Black", is the narrator of the 80-minute documentary. Aduba happens to be a lifelong Red Sox fan and Boston University graduate. She is also the first woman to narrate the official World Series film.
The film will be available as a Blu-ray and DVD combo pack staring Tuesday.
For those who want a more in-depth trip down memory lane, there is an accompanying release, "The World Series Collector's Edition", which is an eight-disc set that includes all five games of the World Series, as well as the American League Championship Series clincher against the Astros and a bonus disc which includes the AL Division Series clincher against the Yankees.
