White-Sox-Royals postponed, set for straight DH Tuesday
CHICAGO -- Monday’s contest between the White Sox and Royals at Guaranteed Rate Field was postponed due to rain.
Precipitation began falling early in the morning in Chicago, and the forecast called for rain until early Tuesday.
The postponed series opener will be made up as part of a straight doubleheader Tuesday starting at 3:40 p.m. CT. The second game will begin approximately 30-45 minutes following the conclusion of the opener, but not before 6:40 p.m. Parking lots and gates will open Tuesday at 2:40 p.m.
Dylan Cease starts Game 1 for the White Sox, while Brady Singer gets the call for the Royals. Touki Toussaint starts the nightcap for Chicago against Jordan Lyles.
Fans with tickets, parking and Huntington Bank Stadium Club passes to Tuesday’s originally scheduled 6:40 p.m. contest can attend both games of the doubleheader. Season ticket holders, individual suite holders and patio ticket holders will receive a credit to their account for game tickets and parking for Monday’s game. Refunds for all other purchases, including Ticketmaster, SeatGeek and Stubhub, should be initiated at the point of purchase.
Both the White Sox (55-88) and Royals (44-100) have been officially eliminated from postseason contention.
