White Sox, 3rd-rounder Coffey agree to terms

June 18th, 2020

CHICAGO -- Adisyn Coffey, the White Sox third-round selection in the 2020 Draft, has signed with the organization.

The right-handed pitcher from Wabash Valley Community College (Ill.) signed for $50,000, per MLB.com’s Jim Callis, which was below the slot value of $733,100 for pick No. 83. Coffey has a fastball in the mid-90s, and according to White Sox scouting director Mike Shirley, the team plans to use him as a two-way player at least at the outset. Coffey has experience both on the mound and in the field.

Garrett Crochet, a left-handed hurler from Tennessee, was taken at No. 11 overall by the White Sox with a slot value of $4,547,500. Jared Kelley, the No. 12 Draft prospect entering the Draft, was selected at No. 47 by the White Sox with a slot value of $1,580,200. The White Sox total bonus pool is $7,764,800, with much of it figuring to go to Crochet and Coffey.

Crochet was scheduled to visit Chicago this week for his physical and MRIs.
