Videos of first career hits, swipes and dingers have been all the rage of late, and there is more to come!

Major League Opening Day was on March 30 with the first Triple-A games beginning the following day. Double-A, High-A and Single-A clubs are beginning their schedules Thursday and Friday. And we've already seen some of the top young talents in the game flock to all four corners of the country to fill out Major and Minor League rosters.

Fourteen of MLB Pipeline’s preseason Top 100 prospects opened 2023 in the Majors, headlined by four of our top five in Orioles infielder Gunnar Henderson (who was No. 1), D-backs outfielder Corbin Carroll (was No. 2), Cardinals outfielder Jordan Walker (No. 2) and Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe (No. 3). Henderson and Carroll have since graduated from the list.

Walker and Volpe joined White Sox outfielder Oscar Colás (No. 84) as Major League debutants on Opening Day. That trio represented a drop from the group of eight in 2022 but still an uptick from the two we saw in both 2021 and 2020.

As for the Minor Leagues, 33 Top 100 prospects opened at Triple-A while 22 will be at Double-A, 15 at High-A and seven at Single-A. Eleven are dealing with various injuries and will not begin the campaign on an active roster.
