New faces
The Reds added two exciting arms when the lockout ended in the trade that sent Jesse Winker and Eugenio Suarez to Seattle. Brandon Williamson is one of the better left-handed pitching prospects and will begin his Reds career a phone call away with Triple-A Louisville. Connor Phillips, the player to be named in that deal, is part of a stacked rotation in Dayton.
On the shelf
Lyon Richardson struggled for much of 2021 and it turned out a bad elbow was the main cause. He had Tommy John surgery during the offseason and will miss all of 2022. Jackson Miller is rehabbing from sports hernia surgery.
