A pair of playoff contenders are set to clash Wednesday in Milwaukee, and fans can tune in for a unique viewing experience in a broadcast airing live exclusively on YouTube.
The Twins and Brewers wrap a two-game Interleague set at 2 p.m. ET in the sixth of 13 games that will air exclusively on YouTube over the remainder of the 2019 season. The MLB Game of the Week Live on YouTube is an MLB Network production and can be viewed for free on MLB’s official YouTube page.
Wednesday’s tilt at Miller Park is the very first Interleague matchup to be featured as an MLB Game of the Week Live on YouTube.
Both clubs are in the mix for a division title, with the Twins competing in baseball’s tightest division race against the Indians in the American League Central and the Brewers locked in a three-way battle with the Cubs and Cardinals for the National League Central crown. Both teams are also right in the thick of the Wild Card chase, if they don't win their respective divisions.
Milwaukee’s chances were surely boosted by the return of star outfielder Christian Yelich on Tuesday. The reigning NL Most Valuable Player had missed five starts with a bad back but came off the bench to pinch-hit Sunday and was back in the lineup for Tuesday’s opener vs. the Twins.
Twins right-hander Kyle Gibson draws the assignment of containing Yelich, who homered twice in his last start before missing time with the back issues and knocked an RBI double Tuesday. Gibson stumbled his last time out, battling through an illness and command issues against the Indians. He’ll look to bounce back after yielding a career-high six walks and allowing six runs in 4 1/3 innings.
Gio Gonzalez will start for the Brewers. With the club’s injury-depleted rotation, they’ll look for length from the veteran hurler, who owns a 2.30 ERA over his last three starts.
