In a matchup of rookie sensations between Riley Greene's Tigers and Bobby Witt Jr.'s Royals, there are no commentators in the booth. Instead, viewers will be taken inside the ballpark experience to enjoy the different ways that fans watch the sport.
NBC Sports’ Ahmed Fareed and Britney Eurton, joined by former Tigers outfielder and current broadcaster Craig Monroe, will explore various areas of Comerica Park, providing interviews with special guests and a tour of the ballpark. There will also be unique camera angles, an enhanced focus on youth sports and a celebration of Independence Day weekend. Amid all that, fans will watch the game the way they would at the stadium, featuring purely ballpark noise with no commentary.
MLB Sunday Leadoff on Peacock debuted on May 8, beginning an 18-week schedule of exclusive MLB contests every Sunday morning. Peacock is also the exclusive home of the SiriusXM All-Star Futures Game, which will be played during All-Star Week on Sat., July 16, at Dodger Stadium.
The MLB Sunday Leadoff game each week is the only game scheduled until 1:30 p.m. ET, when the rest of the day’s action will begin. The start time for each MLB Sunday Leadoff game is noon ET for the remainder of the games through Sept. 4.
