Play-by-play announcer Jason Benetti is joined in the booth for the Braves-Padres matchup by former Atlanta center fielder Andruw Jones and former MLB first baseman and outfielder Mark Sweeney.
Jones is making his broadcast analyst debut. He had a stellar 17-year MLB career in which he was a five-time All-Star, a 10-time Gold Glove Award winner and hit 434 home runs from 1996-2012. Sweeney is an analyst for Bally Sports San Diego covering the Padres, as well as a pre- and postgame analyst for FS1’s MLB coverage.
MLB Sunday Leadoff on Peacock debuted on May 8, beginning an 18-week schedule of exclusive MLB contests every Sunday morning. Each week, Benetti will be joined in the booth by local analysts covering the participating teams.
NBC Sports’ Ahmed Fareed hosts the MLB Sunday Leadoff pre- and postgame shows each week, and also serves as the in-game reporter. This Sunday, Fareed was joined by former MLB outfielder and World Series champion Nick Swisher as a pre- and postgame analyst. Rob Friedman, a.k.a. “PitchingNinja” on Twitter (@PitchingNinja), also provided pitching breakdowns.
The MLB Sunday Leadoff game each week is the only game scheduled until 1:30 p.m. ET, when the rest of the day’s action will begin. The start time for each MLB Sunday Leadoff game is 11:30 a.m. ET through June 12, and noon ET for the remainder of the games through Sept. 4.
