Watch Cards-Dodgers, today on YouTube
Once again today, baseball fans will be treated to a unique digital viewing experience when the Dodgers host the Cardinals in a game airing exclusively on YouTube.
The contest, which is the fourth MLB Game of the Week Live on YouTube, will see the Dodgers and Cards wrap up a three-game series in Los Angeles. An MLB Network production, the game is scheduled to start at 3:10 p.m. ET (2:10 CT/12:10 PT) and it can be viewed for free on MLB's official YouTube page.
L.A. also played in the very first MLB Game of the Week Live on YouTube, losing to the Phillies, 7-6, on July 18.
Toeing the rubber for the Dodgers, who have the best record in the National League, will be rookie Dustin May, the team's No. 2 prospect (MLB's No. 35 overall). The hard-throwing right-hander made his Major League debut last Friday against the Padres, allowing four runs (three earned) and striking out three over 5 2/3 innings.
May will look to shut down a St. Louis lineup led by the NL Player of the Month for July, Paul Goldschmidt.
The Cardinals will counter with Jack Flaherty, himself a former highly touted pitching prospect. The 23-year-old Flaherty finished fifth in NL Rookie of the Year Award voting last season and has recorded a sparkling 1.15 ERA with 39 strikeouts in 31 1/3 innings over his past five starts.
Flaherty will look to keep it up against a deep Dodgers offense headlined by NL MVP candidate Cody Bellinger.
St. Louis is 2 1/2 games behind the first-place Cubs in the NL Central -- the closest division race in MLB -- with a mere half-game deficit in the battle for the second NL Wild Card spot.
