PHILADELPHIA -- Walker Buehler gets no day off on Wednesday as he was recalled to start the Dodgers' series finale against the Phillies.
Buehler has been up, down and all around this season. He most recently was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City before the All-Star break, although he never pitched there this time around. He began the season in the Minor Leagues, has had two stints on the disabled list with a microfractured rib and still is in the conversation for National League Rookie of the Year with a 4-2 record and 3.45 ERA.
Manager Dave Roberts, who earlier said he's considering a six-man rotation through the current 17-game stretch, said he expects Buehler "to stick around for a while."
Right-handed pitcher Dylan Floro was optioned to Triple-A to make room for Buehler.
• Outfielder Yasiel Puig (right oblique strain) will rejoin the club in Atlanta on Saturday after a brief rehab assignment that started Tuesday night with Triple-A Oklahoma City.
• Roberts said reliever Pedro Baez, who has been out since June 12 with right biceps tendinitis, will rejoin the club on Thursday in Atlanta. There's no estimated date for the returns of right-hander Josh Fields and left-handers Tony Cingrani and Julio Urias, who are all dealing with injuries to their respective throwing shoulders.
• Starter Hyun-Jin Ryu, out since May 3 with a left groin strain, will begin a rehab assignment within a week, Roberts said. He is likely to need at least four starts, in what amounts to another Spring Training. A healthy Ryu would give the Dodgers a seventh starter.

• The Dodgers and reliever Tom Koehler waved the white flag on a lost season on Tuesday when the right-hander underwent season-ending right capsule repair surgery.
Koehler, a converted starter signed as a free agent in hopes that he could be the next Brandon Morrow, was injured in his first Spring Training game with a strain of his capsule and never returned to game action.
"Disappointing for him and for our ballclub," said Roberts. "I really think he could have added a plus fastball, the success he had out of the bullpen last year could have made us more dynamic."
• Matt Kemp, given a day off on Tuesday, was named the Dodgers' winner of the Major League Baseball Players Alumni Association Heart and Hustle Award. It honors active players who demonstrate a passion for the game of baseball and best embody the values, spirit and traditions of the game. The Heart and Hustle Award is also the only award in Major League Baseball that is voted on by former players.
