Tyler and Taylor Rogers don't just share DNA. They also share ERA.

The identical twin relievers for the Giants are right now doing something so remarkable, so poetic, it defies explanation. You just have to see it and appreciate it for the cosmic quirk that it is.

Take a look at their side-by-side stats through their team's first 115 games of the season:

Tyler Rogers: 2.54 ERA, 45 strikeouts, 1.09 WHIP
Taylor Rogers: 2.52 ERA, 46 strikeouts, 1.09 WHIP

Lest we forget, this is the first year the Rogers brothers are playing for the same professional team. They have both made over 40 appearances out of the bullpen, so this is no small sample size.

Obviously a lot has to align here. Tyler, the right-handed sidewinder, is used more frequently but strikes out hitters at a lower rate -- only 7.1 K/9 this season compared to Taylor's 10.5, giving his left-handed brother the chance to match him in total K's despite throwing 17 1/3 more innings.

Whether they can keep up this statistical marvel remains to be seen, and is unfortunately unlikely. But if they can, or even come close, it could be the coolest "weird stat" this side of Khris Davis batting .247 four seasons in a row.

When Taylor finalized his deal with the Giants in December and his brother hopped on the introductory Zoom call, the pair maintained they weren't known for their funny business.

“We’re not tricksters,” said Taylor. “I wouldn’t expect a lot of trick moves out of us. That was never our thing growing up. It’s just not something that we do.”

Their stats right now, which just might seem like a trick of the eye, beg to differ.
