Ty Blach spun his second shutout of the season, leading Triple-A Sacramento to a 2-0 win over Tacoma.
Blach, the Giants' No. 23 prospect, needed a season-high 123 pitches (85 strikes) to finish the masterpiece, in which he gave up just two hits and struck out seven.

"Just executing pitches and getting ahead," Blach told MiLB.com. "Being able to execute when I was ahead in the count, and the defense was making great plays all day. ... Pretty much just rolled with what [catcher Miguel Olivo] was calling. ... We were on the same page all day long, I don't think I shook him off once."
After posting a 1.59 ERA in five July starts -- his best month of the year -- Blach has carried that momentum into August, as he's 2-0 with a 1.80 ERA in two starts.
The 25-year-old lefty has thrown three complete games this season, the most he's fired in any season since the Giants selected him in the fifth round of the 2012 draft.
The rest of the best performances from top prospects Wednesday:
• Joey Gallo (Rangers' No. 1, No. 13 overall) hadn't homered in two straight games, so he was bound to go deep for Triple-A Round Rock. Gallo homered for the sixth time in his past 13 games and now has 22 through 78 games with the Express this season. The Rangers' top prospect later added a pair of extra base hits and finished 3-for-5 with three RBIs, just a single short of the cycle.

• Amed Rosario (Mets' No. 1, No. 16 overall) notched his 11th three-hit performance of the year as part of a 3-for-4 night with Double-A Binghamton. The 20-year-old shortstop has been on fire since his promotion, hitting a scorching .364 in 31 Double-A games.
• Clint Frazier (Yankees' No. 1, No. 21 overall) and Aaron Judge (Yankees' No. 4, No. 28 overall) provided a large chunk of offense for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. The duo combined to go 5-for-9 with a homer and four RBIs in the club's win. Frazier extended his hitting streak to five games and recorded his first three-hit game with the Yankees' organization, going 3-for-5 with two RBIs. Judge went 2-for-4 including a homer and has now gone deep in two of his past three games and hit in seven of eight games since returning from the disabled list.

"Overall, it's just been a different atmosphere," Frazier told MiLB.com "I got traded and I'm getting acclimated to the situation that I'm in right now with the new team, new coaching staff. It is a fairly new level as well. So I'm just trying just to settle in. Obviously, it's going to be different for a few days, but I've really meshed well with the guys here."
• Richard Urena (Blue Jays' No. 1, No. 86 overall) hit a trio of triples in another strong offensive performance with Double-A New Hampshire. The 20-year-old shortstop went 3-for-5 with an RBI and has been on fire since he was bumped up to Double-A. In seven games with the Fisher Cats, Urena is batting .433 with five triples. He also has hits in all seven games.
• Matt Chapman (Athletics' No. 4) extended his Texas League home run lead with a pair of blasts for Double-A Midland. Chapman went 2-for-4 with three RBIs on the evening and now has 28 home runs in 113 games this season. The 23-year-old has four multi-homer games this season, including two in his past four games.

• Blue Jays' No. 28 prospect Ryan McBroom extended his hitting streak to five games and hit his first career grand slam as part of a 2-for-4 game for Class A Dunedin. The 20-year-old has been on fire at the plate this week, with homers in two of his past three games and eight RBIs over his past four contests.
• Jeimer Candelario (Cubs' No. 3) continues to heat up for Triple-A Iowa. The 22-year-old went 3-for-4 and is now 6-for-11 over his past three games. In 53 games at the Double-A level, Candelario is hitting .304.
• Cubs' No. 8 prospect Trevor Clifton struck out five over six strong frames for Class A Advanced Myrtle Beach, lowering his ERA to 2.96 through 20 starts this season. Clifton gave up just one unearned run on three hits and hasn't allowed an earned run in either of his past two starts, a total of 12 innings.
• Alex Young (D-backs' No. 5) hasn't given up an earned run in 22 innings after allowing just one unearned run in six innings for Class A Advanced Visalia. The lefty scattered four hits across his outing and struck out two.
• Greg Allen (Indians' No. 20) had a perfect night at the plate, going 4-for-4 with a walk and a run scored for Double-A Akron. Allen, a 23-year-old outfielder, also stole his 40th base of the year in the process.
• For the first time in three starts, Nationals' No. 4 prospect Erick Fedde gave up a run. However, it was just the one as the 23-year-old threw seven strong innings in an impressive debut with Double-A Harrisburg. Fedde also struck out three and gave up five hits.
"There were definitely some nerves when I was going out there," Fedde told MiLB.com. "But it's the same game I've always been playing, so I don't mind being a little nervous."
• Alec Hansen (White Sox No. 8) hasn't given up an earned run over his past 12 innings, striking out 21 in that span. The White Sox second-round pick struck out 11 in six scoreless in his last start and followed that up with another gem. The 21-year-old surrendered just one unearned run on three hits in six innings for Rookie-level Great Falls.
• Rays' No. 23 prospect Austin Franklin has thrown five scoreless innings in back-to-back starts for the Rookie-level GCL Rays. The Rays' third-round selection gave up just two hits in the outing and has posted a 2.73 ERA through his first eight professional appearances.
