Two Angels players test positive for COVID-19
ANAHEIM -- Two players in the Angels' organization tested positive for COVID-19, but neither had been working out at Angel Stadium or the club’s Spring Training complex in Tempe, Ariz., general manager Billy Eppler said Friday.
The Angels, though, didn’t say whether the players were in the Major Leagues or Minor Leaguers or when they tested positive. The Angels had been hosting limited workouts at Angel Stadium and Tempe Diablo Stadium since at least mid-May.
The Phillies announced Friday that they had five players test positive for the virus, while the Astros also had a player test positive. The Blue Jays and Giants also announced they were shutting down their Spring Training facilities in Dunedin, Fla., and Scottsdale, Ariz., respectively, after several players exhibited symptoms consistent with the coronavirus.
