Twins select right-handed pitcher Ryan Pressly in Major League Rule 5 Draft

The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have selected right-handed pitcher Ryan Pressly from the Boston Red Sox organization in the major league portion of the Rule 5 Draft.
Pressly went 7-5 with a 5.38 ERA (103.2 IP, 62 ER), 36 walks and 82 strikeouts in 34 games (12 starts) between Single-A Salem and Double-A Portland. The 23-year-old was originally selected by the Red Sox in the 11th round of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft. He has a career minor league record of 25-31 with a 4.27 ERA (447.1 IP, 212 ER), 178 walks and 348 strikeouts in 109 games (82 starts).
The Twins also selected third baseman Mark Sobolewski from the Toronto Blue Jays organization and lost right-handed pitcher Tom Boleska to the Baltimore Orioles organization in the Triple-A phase of the Rule 5 Draft.
Sobolewski, 25, batted .249 (113-for-454) with 21 doubles, 20 home runs and 59 RBI in 117 games between Double-A New Hampshire and Triple-A Las Vegas last season and was named best defensive third baseman in the Eastern League by Baseball America.
The Twins now have 37 players on their 40-man roster.
