With a facade inspired by the Kentucky Derby's Churchill Downs, Hammond Stadium is a comfortable and enjoyable place to see the youngest Twins embark on their professional journeys. Approximately 60 miles from the Field of Dreams, Veterans Memorial Stadium may not have cornfields housing ghosts of baseball's past, but it does offer a top-notch Minor League experience. Double-A: Wichita Wind Surge, Riverfront Stadium
Entrenched as the only professional baseball team in the state of Kansas, the Wind Surge are the denizens of one of the newest and most state-of-the-art facilities on the Minor League circuit. Located on the banks of the Arkansas River, Riverfront Stadium sits in the middle of what will become Wichita's "Ballpark District," which is currently being developed and will feature a hotel, restaurants, offices and retail space.
