Orioles: Adley Rutschman, C (MLB No. 2), Double-A Bowie
The top Orioles prospect went yard for the second straight game while extending his hitting streak to three games during which he is 6-for-12 with four extra-base hits, six runs scored and a pair of RBIs. On Sunday, the backstop reached base four times: He walked in the second and scored on a Johnny Rizer dinger, led off the fourth with a jack to left-center, walked again on four pitches in the sixth, and found some good fortune with a two-bagger on a popup that fell out of the reach of third baseman Elehuris Montero's diving try in the eighth. Mets: Francisco Álvarez, C (MLB No. 37), High-A Brooklyn
The top Mets prospect posted his third game with at least three hits this season and drove in a season-high four runs. Álvarez opened the scoring with a two-run double to left in the first inning, was walked on four pitches in the fifth, drove in another pair of runners with a base knock into center in the sixth, and laced a second two-bagger to left with two outs in the eighth. Marlins: Edward Cabrera, RHP (MLB No. 54), Low-A Jupiter
The fourth-ranked Marlins prospect made his first appearance of the year in a rehab assignment with the Hammerheads and did not allow a run over three frames. The right-hander worked around a pair of hits and did not issue a walk while whiffing three on Sunday. Cabrera needed just six pitches to retire the side in order in the first and was pulled after tossing 37 pitches, 24 of which were strikes. The 23-year-old posted a 2.23 ERA and 0.99 WHIP with 116 strikeouts over 96 2/3 innings across two levels of the minors in 2019. Marlins prospects stats »

Nationals: Cade Cavalli, RHP (MLB No. 82), High-A Wilmington
Tres Barrera, C (No. 19), Triple-A Rochester
Cavalli had the strikeout pitch working once again, fanning 11 for a second consecutive start. The right-hander completed six innings for the third time this season, scattering five hits and a pair of walks during his 90-pitch outing. Cavalli owns a 15.2 K/9 and leads the Minors with 56 punchouts to go along with a 2.14 ERA and 1.01 WHIP in his first six professional starts.

Barrera homered twice in the same game for a third time and tied his career high with five RBIs in a breakout performance for Rochester. The 26-year-old came into the game batting .212 but connected on his first two home runs of the season, snapping a season-long drought that reached 66 at-bats. Nationals prospects stats »

Braves: Jesse Franklin V, OF (No. 16), High-A Rome
Off to a slow start in his professional debut, Franklin put together a career-high performance for Rome on Sunday. The 22-year-old hit a pair of solo homers and has hit safely in four of his past five games. All three of Franklin’s home runs have come in the past five games and he’s driven in as many runs in June (three) as he did in 75 at-bats last month. Braves prospects stats »

Brewers: Ethan Small, LHP (No. 4), Double-A Biloxi
Tristen Lutz, OF (No. 12), Double-A Biloxi
The fourth-ranked Brewers prospect posted his second straight scoreless outing and third of the year. Small worked around two hits and a pair of walks to fan eight over 5 2/3 innings against the Biscuits. After yielding a leadoff single, the southpaw retired seven in a row -- punching out four. Small was pulled after whiffing the first two batters of the sixth -- he tossed 75 pitches, 42 were strikes. The 24-year-old now has three scoreless outings this season where he yielded two hits or fewer. Small lowered his ERA to 2.60 and has amassed 46 strikeouts over 27 2/3 frames this season.

While Small did his job on the mound, Lutz took care of things at the plate. The 22-year-old fell a triple shy of the cycle and drove in a season-high four runs to lead Biloxi. His two-RBI double in the opening frame snapped an 0-for-26 skid dating back to May 28. Lutz’s fourth home run was his first since May 13, a span of 18 games. The 34th overall pick in the 2017 Draft is batting .224/.308/.411 with 12 extra-base hits and 16 RBIs in 27 games. Brewers prospects stats »

Dodgers: Miguel Vargas, 3B (No. 11), High-A Great Lakes
Diego Cartaya, C (No. 6), Low-A Rancho Cucamonga
The 11th-ranked Dodgers prospect extended his hitting streak to 23 straight games with his third three-knock effort of the season. Vargas fell a single shy of hitting for cycle on Sunday as he led off the game with a home run to left, went down the line in left for an RBI double in the sixth, and motored around the bases for his first triple of the season in the eighth. The 21-year-old is sporting a .336/.384/.560 slash line with 17 extra-base hits, 25 runs scored and 13 RBIs this season.

Cartaya extended his season-long hitting streak to eight with the first multi-homer game of his career. The 19-year-old did not join Rancho Cucamonga until May 25, but has been one of the hottest hitters in the Minors in that span. Cartaya is batting .419/.486/1.000 with four multihit efforts. Indians: Jose Tena, SS (No. 24), High-A Lake County
The 24th-ranked Indians prospect posted his fourth three-hit game of the season and his second where all three knocks went for extra bases. Tena led off the second with a triple into center and scored before getting another at-bat in the inning, lacing a two-run double to center to cap a seven-run frame for Lake County. After working a six-pitch walk and scoring in the fourth, the 20-year-old hammered another two-run two-bagger to left in the third inning. Marlins: Jake Eder, LHP (No. 24), Double-A Pensacola
In just his sixth professional start, Eder was perfect over five frames. The fourth-round selection in last year’s Draft whiffed eight as he faced the minimum and was pulled after tossing 63 pitches -- 48 for strikes. Eder whiffed the side in the third and only needed 10 pitches to navigate through his final inning. The southpaw lowered his ERA to 0.61 and has amassed 50 strikeouts over 29 2/3 innings this season. Phillies: Logan O’Hoppe, C (No. 24), High-A Jersey Shore
O’Hoppe homered to extend his hitting streak to six games and reached base safely five times to pace Jersey Shore’s 12-hit attack. The 21-year-old doubled, singled and drove in two runs in his second three-hit performance over the last four games. O’Hoppe tied the game with his fourth homer of the season in the third inning and provided insurance with an RBI double in the sixth. A 23rd-round pick in the 2018 Draft, the backstop has raised his slash line to .270/.340/.483 thanks to a 10-for-22 stretch during his hitting streak. Phillies prospects stats »

Pirates: Carmen Mlodzinski, RHP (No. 11), High-A Greensboro
The right-hander turned in his third scoreless outing of the season. Mlodzinski scattered four hits and a walk to fan seven over five frames. The 22-year-old recovered quickly from a two-on, no-out jam to escape the first inning unscathed, and struck out the side in order in the third. He was pulled after tossing 78 pitches, 55 for strikes. Mlodzinski is sporting a 0.55 ERA and 0.86 WHIP with 25 punchouts and just seven walks over four starts and 16 1/3 innings this season. Rockies: Michael Toglia, 1B (No. 3), High-A Spokane
The third-ranked Rockies prospect posted his first multi-homer game of the season as he extended his hitting streak to three games and his on-base streak to six games. Toglia blasted a two-run shot to left in the third and found the seats again with a solo jack to right on a 3-0 pitch in the fifth. Twins: Spencer Steer, 2B (No. 30), High-A Cedar Rapids
The 2019 third-rounder posted the first multi-homer game of his professional career as part of his second three-hit effort of the season. Steer led off the game with a line drive dinger left, worked a seven-pitch walk in the seventh, won an eight-pitch battle in the sixth with his second roundtripper, a two-run blast to left, and found the grass in center for a base hit in the eighth.
