Tigers-Phils postponed due to air quality, moved to Thursday
PHILADELPHIA -- The Center City skyline provides a beautiful backdrop from the second deck at Citizens Bank Park, but it vanished completely on Wednesday afternoon.
Major League Baseball postponed the Tigers-Phillies game because of poor air quality due to smoke from Canadian wildfires that drifted into the United States. The series finale between the two teams will be played at 6:05 p.m. ET on Thursday.
Philadelphia right-hander Zack Wheeler (4-4, 4.33 ERA) will face Detroit left-hander Tyler Holton (0-0, 2.32 ERA), who pitched two innings Tuesday and will serve as an opener.
Tickets from Wednesday’s game will be valid for Thursday’s game. All gates will open at 4:35 p.m.
The Phillies said valid tickets for Thursday’s game include those fans who:
- Purchased tickets and parking (if applicable) directly from the Phillies.
- Purchased tickets on SeatGeek.
- Purchased tickets via any other secondary market.
