CLEVELAND -- The Tigers' woes at Progressive Field continued in Tuesday night's 12-1 loss to the Indians, and they reached a boiling point for Miguel Cabrera, who was ejected in the sixth inning after a ball he'd seemingly fouled off his leg was ruled to be in play.
Cabrera was batting with Final Vote candidate Ian Kinsler on first base and one out when he swung at Carlos Carrasco's 3-1 pitch. Replays showed Cabrera knocking the ball down and off his front leg, along with Cabrera wincing as the ball went to third baseman Jose Ramirez.

Ramirez fired to second base, where Kinsler was in ahead of the throw. Cabrera, however, didn't move, still in the box waiting for the next pitch. Instead, second baseman Jason Kipnis fired to first and got the out as Cabrera threw up his arms.
Manager Brad Ausmus argued for the umpires to confer, which they did, but the call was not changed.
"They said they didn't see it as hitting his leg, and it's not a reviewable play," Ausmus said. "Based on the video, I'm sure they'll look at it and say they just missed it, but that happens."
An irate Cabrera went to home-plate umpire Jordan Baker, who had ruled the ball in play, before Ausmus separated them. Cabrera then argued with first-base umpire Tim Timmons, who eventually ejected him.
"I can't defend all three umpires at once," Ausmus said. "It's actually a silver lining. We have an early game tomorrow. He probably would've been out of the game anyway at some point."
It was the eighth career ejection for Cabrera, and it came hours after he was named an All-Star for the 11th time, this year as a reserve. Andrew Romine replaced him at first base in the bottom of the inning.
