Tigers announce two upcoming fan events
DETROIT -- Tigers fans still looking for a taste of baseball through Michigan’s winter chill without TigerFest will get it this week. A mass autograph signing and kids rally are among the events open to the public as players and coaches come to town.
The kids rally will take place on Thursday, Jan. 23 from 4:45 to 6 p.m. ET at Lakeshore High School in St. Clair Shores as part of the Tigers Winter Caravan. Hundreds of students around metro Detroit are invited to meet players and coaches for an evening of games and prizes as the Tigers celebrate the importance of exercise and sports in schools.
Two days later, more than two dozen Tigers players and coaches will head downtown for a free autograph signing and photo event on Jan. 25 as the Tigers introduce their Signature Saturdays ahead of the 2020 season.
The Signature Saturday debut keeps one of the more popular fan events of TigerFest and opens it to the public. Tigers players and coaches will be placed at locations around District Detroit as well as the new Columbia Street Plaza off Woodward near Fox Theatre. Hockeytown Café and the MDen will be among the sites, and they will be offering discounts to fans throughout the day.
Autographs and photos will be available from 10 a.m. to noon. Fans can take advantage of $8 parking rates at three lots nearby, including The D Garage, 117 W. Columbia St. and 168 W. Columbia St. Parking can be purchased in advance.
