With Miguel Cabrera announcing that the 2023 season will be his final as a player, the Detroit Tigers will host a season-long celebration providing fans various opportunities to honor the career of the greatest player of a generation.

“¡Gracias, Miggy! The Final Season” is a campaign that will do just that, identifying key dates throughout the season that allow fans across baseball to revel in Miggy’s greatest moments, past and present. Everything is centered around the things that matter most to Miguel: his family, his heritage, his teammates and winning.

Every game at Comerica Park this season will have a special Miggy-centric flare to it, including photo opportunities throughout the ballpark and unique features on the scoreboard during his at-bats. Key dates, which are outlined below, will have even more special features for fans to enjoy.

There is also an informational Tigers.com page being finalized laying out all these activations -- including links to games on key dates and other fan-facing elements of the campaign.

Miggy Celebration Weekend

The final weekend of Detroit’s regular season will feature a can’t-miss celebration of Cabrera’s career, with all three games packed with what are sure to be memorable moments.

• Friday, Sept. 29 -- Friday Night Party at the Park, Miggy style! There will be Latin food offerings and music throughout the ballpark, with a special postgame drone show before Friday Night Fireworks.
• Saturday, Sept. 30 -- On the Saturday of Fan Appreciation Weekend, presented by Visit Central Florida, there will be a pregame ceremony to honor the career of Cabrera, including video tributes, guest speakers and much more. The first 15,000 fans through the gates will receive a Miguel Cabrera Print-All-Over T-Shirt, also presented by Visit Central Florida.
• Sunday, Oct. 1 -- What could be the final regular-season game of Miggy’s legendary career, all fans entering the ballpark will receive a ¡Gracias, Miggy! commemorative item, with creative design input from Miggy himself.

“Tigers Win -- Fans Can Win!” Sweepstakes

Tigers fans have a chance to win Miggy-themed prizes each time the team wins at Comerica Park in 2023!

During each homestand in 2023, fans can enter their name into the Tigers Win -- Fans Can Win Sweepstakes. For every Tigers win that homestand, one entrant will be randomly selected to win an awesome Miggy-themed prize, such as autographed memorabilia, merchandise from the Cabrera Collection, tickets to Miggy Celebration Weekend and more.

It’s easy and free to enter -- just check in at the game from the Ballpark App or submit a mail-in postcard. Additional details and entry guidelines will be shared on @tigers social media channels and Tigers.com ahead of the home opener on April 6.

Key Dates -- 2023 Season

April 6 -- Miggy’s final Opening Day, presented by Rocket Mortgage, will have special moments throughout the game, including celebrity first pitches that Detroit sports fans won’t want to miss.

April 29 -- First of four Miggy-themed giveaway items this season: The first 15,000 fans at this game will get a Miguel Cabrera Graphic T-Shirt, presented by Meijer.

June 10 -- The first 15,000 fans through the gates will receive a Miggy Milestones Bobblehead, presented by Bally Sports Detroit.

July 24 -- It's the return of Keeping Kids in the Game, a Detroit Tigers Foundation tradition and a Miguel Cabrera favorite event that brings hundreds of people to Comerica Park from across the baseball community, which raises money and awareness for important causes.

Aug. 5 -- The 18th annual ¡Fiesta Tigres! game, presented by Miller Lite, will have a special Miggy focus, celebrating the significant impact that players from Latin America have had on the game of baseball.
