ANAHEIM -- The Angels got back over .500 with their wild win over the Orioles on Thursday, which featured homers from superstars Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani and a game-changing outfield assist from Hunter Renfroe in the ninth inning.

But much has been going on in their Minor League system as well, so here’s a look at who’s standing out so far at each of the club’s four full-season affiliates:

TRIPLE-A SALT LAKE

Offensive standouts:

Outfielder Jo Adell has continued his strong season, hitting .283/.382/.641 with 14 homers and 31 RBIs through his first 39 games. Strikeouts remain an issue with 57 in 171 plate appearances, but he's improved his defense. He was in the mix to get called up last week but the Angels went with Mickey Moniak because he hits left-handed and the Angels are in a stretch of facing a slew of right-handed starters. Trey Cabbage has also shown off immense power but still needs to work on his defense at first base. Infielder Michael Stefanic is also having a strong year offensively but has hit just one home run.

Pitching standouts:

It’s tough to pitch well at the high altitude in Salt Lake City, but Kenny Rosenberg has struck out 39 batters in 38 innings and reliever Reyes Moronta is off to a strong start after being signed to a Minor League deal last week. Moronta has a career 3.02 ERA in parts of five seasons in the Majors with the Giants, Dodgers and D-backs. Manager Phil Nevin is familiar with him, as he was on the coaching staff with the Giants in 2017 when Moronta was a rookie.

DOUBLE-A ROCKET CITY

Offensive standouts:

Outfielder Orlando Martinez has been the club’s best hitter, posting a .907 OPS with six homers and 18 RBIs in 33 games. But he’s five years older than top catching prospect Edgar Quero, who posted an .841 OPS in 27 games. Quero, ranked as the club’s No. 3 prospect, has hit at every level and has put himself on the radar. But now it’s about improving behind the plate before he gets called up to the Majors. Infielder Kyren Paris, the club's No. 9 prospect, has also continued to develop more power after a breakout second half last year and should move up the prospect lists if he continues to pair his on-base skills with power.

Pitching standouts:

Right-hander Kenyon Yovan has been excellent in relief with a 0.57 ERA in 15 2/3 innings. Zac Kristofak, Eric Torres and Kolton Ingram have also been impressive out of the bullpen. Right-hander Coleman Crow posted a 1.88 ERA through his first four starts but was placed on the IL with an undisclosed injury last week. Hard throwers like Sam Bachman (6.45 ERA) and Ben Joyce (6.75 ERA) have struggled to adapt to the experimental sticky balls used at Double-A this year.

HIGH-A TRI CITY

Offensive standouts:

Middle infielder Adrian Placencia is only 19 years old but has posted a respectable .699 OPS in 28 games. The team average OPS is just .624. After a rough professional debut in 2021, he’s been starting to put it together over the last two seasons and is ranked as the club’s No. 8 prospect. Shortstop Arol Vera, 20, is ranked as the club’s No. 28 prospect and leads the club with 21 RBIs in 34 games.

Pitching standouts: 

Right-hander John Swanda has posted a 2.31 ERA in six starts, while fellow right-hander Jack Kochanowicz has a 1.52 ERA through five outings. Kelvin Caceres, Emilker Guzman and Robinson Pina have fared well in relief with Caceres serving as the closer.

SINGLE-A INLAND EMPIRE

Offensive standouts:

Outfielder Jorge Ruiz is just 18 years old but has more than held his own against older competition with an .817 OPS and six stolen bases in 34 games. But he’s not the youngest player on the team, as 17-year-old outfielder Nelson Rada has posted a .665 OPS with 14 stolen bases in 31 games. Rada is the club’s No. 13 prospect.

Pitching standouts:

Right-hander Jorge Marcheco, the club's No. 27 prospect, has posted a 2.48 ERA with 32 strikeouts in 32 2/3 innings. Right-hander Jake Madden, the club's No. 12 prospect, leads the club with 35 strikeouts in 24 innings and has a 4.50 ERA in six starts.  Dylan Phillips, Erik Martinez and Hayden Seig have been solid in relief. Right-hander Caden Dana, the club’s No. 11 prospect, had a 1.20 ERA in three starts before getting moved up to Tri-City.
