ST. PETERSBURG -- Starter put together another terrific outing, finished a single shy of the cycle and the Rays ended the month on a high note as they beat the Nationals, 5-0, on Sunday afternoon at Tropicana Field.

Bradley was once again dominant, holding the Nats to three hits and two walks while tying his career high with 11 strikeouts over 5 2/3 innings. Leaning on his devastating fastball and a mix of splitters and cutters, the 23-year-old right-hander induced 20 swinging strikes, two shy of his career-high mark.

His performance helped the Rays claim their fourth straight series win, their longest streak since winning six in a row last August. It also pushed them back to .500 for the 17th time this season and secured a second consecutive winning month, as they finished June with a 14-12 mark.

Since a nine-run, 10-out clunker of a start in Baltimore on June 1, Bradley has been practically untouchable. He has recorded a 1.24 ERA and 40 strikeouts while permitting only 18 hits and 11 walks in 29 innings over his last five starts, and Tampa Bay has won each of his last four outings.

“He’s got some of the best stuff, I would say, in the league, top to bottom,” Rays starter Zack Littell said. “It all comes down to just him recognizing, on his best days and even his worst days, he’s going to be able to go out and get anybody out. That just comes with experience.”

He had plenty of run support, thanks in part to a big day by Paredes. In the final game of a relatively cool month -- at least by the standard he’s set -- Paredes launched his team-leading 13th home run of the season to left-center field in the second inning, tripled off the top of the left-field wall in the fourth inning and scored on a Jose Siri sacrifice fly, then doubled to left in the sixth.

Paredes couldn’t complete the feat in his final at-bat, instead flying out to center field against Tanner Rainey in the eighth inning.

But Paredes had plenty of help at the plate. ripped a two-run homer off Patrick Corbin in the second, and smashed his 11th home run of the season to left off reliever Jordan Weems in the seventh.
