SAN FRANCISCO -- Giants right fielder was out of the lineup Saturday after developing right wrist soreness following a tumble over the bullpen mounds in Friday night's 7-3 loss to the Yankees at Oracle Park.

Duggar was due to be examined by a hand specialist before Saturday's game to assess the severity of the injury, though manager Bruce Bochy said he was hopeful the speedy 25-year-old would be available off the bench against the Yankees.

"He's OK, but he's a little beat up from that fall," Bochy said before Saturday's game. "His wrist is a little sore. He's getting a needed day off. We will get him checked out even more when the docs get here, but right now he's available to go in late, I think, or pinch-hit."

Duggar tripped over the bullpen mounds after venturing into foul territory to track down a popup off the bat of DJ LeMahieu in the first inning of Friday night's game. He remained in the game and made a strong throw to nab Luke Voit at third base in the fifth inning, but the injury scare served as another stark reminder of the safety issue the bullpen mounds present in their current location.

Mac Williamson suffered a concussion after falling over the bullpen mounds and slamming into the left-field wall last year.

Bochy said he's in favor of relocating the bullpen mounds to a safer location, a possibility that has gained more traction in recent weeks as the Giants consider altering the dimensions at Oracle Park.

"We just talked about doing something to reconfigure the park a little bit to get them off the field," Bochy said. "I'd be for it. We saw what happened last night. We saw what happened with Williamson. I think we need to stay open-minded about the possibility of moving them. I know they've been here a long time. They were there a long time in Wrigley and they moved them. It's something that's probably going to get discussed, especially after last night."

Gerardo Parra started in right field in place of Duggar, who has accumulated 8 Defensive Runs Saved this season, tied with Lorenzo Cain for the most among Major League outfielders.
