Please, no puparazzi! Decoy steals show from Shohei at Dodgers parade
You might have thought Shohei Ohtani would be the star of the Dodgers championship parade on Friday afternoon, and for good reason. But at this point we should all know better. There is no bigger star in Los Angeles right now than his dog, Decoy. But please, no puparazzi!
Ohtani's pooch got the celebrity treatment along the route through downtown Los Angeles, with plenty of young fans star-struck by the duo -- or at least the furrier half of it. Ohtani also held Decoy in his arms on one of the parade floats so everyone could see them. Decoy even came dressed for the occasion in a No. 17 Dodgers jersey with his name on the back.
It's been a wild ride for the famous canine ever since Ohtani introduced him to the world while receiving his second MVP Award last year. With a third one almost certainly coming soon, we can only speculate whether Decoy will be part of the celebration again. Since then, the pup has received a fake passport, had his image featured on numerous Ohtani accessories and was honored with his own bobblehead night, when he threw out the first pitch.
So forgive Decoy if he needs a little rest after the rush of this championship season. If Mookie Betts has anything to say about it, there will be a few more of these celebrations to come.
