Blue Jays add Sergio Romo to bolster 'pen

The Toronto Blue Jays agreed to terms with right-hander Sergio Romo on a one-year Major League contract on Wednesday.
Romo, 39, posted an 8.16 ERA in 17 games for the Mariners this season. The 5-11, 185 lb. reliever spent a month on the injured list earlier this season dealing with right shoulder inflammation. The righty was named an All-Star with the Giants in 2013 and helped San Francisco to World Series Championships in 2010, 2012, and 2014. Over the course of his 15-year career, Romo has gone 42-35 with a 3.20 ERA while fanning 786 batters across 719.0 innings of work.
Additionally, RHP Shaun Anderson has been optioned to Triple-A Buffalo and LHP Tayler Saucedo has been transferred to the 60-day injured list.
