SEATTLE -- That time of year is almost here, as the Mariners prepare to report to Arizona for Spring Training.

Here are some questions ahead of camp as they prepare to overcome a sour finish to 2023 and get back into the playoffs:

When are the first workouts?
Feb. 15: First workout for pitchers and catchers

Feb. 20: First full-squad workout

Where is the team’s facility?
The Peoria Sports Complex is located in the West Valley of the greater Phoenix area, about 20 miles northwest of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. It’s at 16101 N. 83rd Ave., Peoria, Ariz., 85382.

Can fans attend workouts?
Yes, workouts are free and open to the public beginning Thursday. The Mariners’ back fields in Peoria are among the most accessible in the league.

Who are some new faces fans should know?
Seattle’s front office oversaw a significant overhaul to its roster that yielded the departures of well-known players such as Jarred Kelenic, Robbie Ray, Marco Gonzales, Eugenio Suárez, Teoscar Hernández and Evan White. And with it, there are many new names that came through the entrance door:

• RHP Gregory Santos, a trade acquisition from the White Sox
• RHP Austin Voth, a free-agent signing (and a Washington state native)
• C/DH Mitch Garver, a free-agent signing
• C Seby Zavala, a trade acquisition from the D-backs
• 2B Jorge Polanco, a trade acquisition from the Twins
• 3B Luis Urías, a trade acquisition from the Red Sox
• OF Luke Raley, a trade acquisition from the Rays
• OF Mitch Haniger, a trade acquisition from the Giants (though he’s a familiar face given that he played in Seattle from 2017-22)
• OF Samad Taylor, a trade acquisition from the Royals

Who are some of the top prospects invited to Major League camp?
Among the Mariners’ Top 30 prospects, INF Cole Young (No. 1), C Harry Ford (No. 2), 1B Tyler Locklear (No. 10), 2B Ryan Bliss (No. 13), OF Alberto Rodriguez (No. 16), RHP Jimmy Joyce (No. 26), RHP Marcelo Perez (No. 28) and OF/3B Spencer Packard (No. 30) were non-roster invitees. Additionally, OF Jonatan Clase (No. 7) and RHP Ty Adcock (No. 21) are on the 40-man roster and will be in camp.

When is the team’s first Cactus League game?
Saturday, Feb. 24, against the White Sox at Camelback Ranch. The Mariners' first home game in Peoria is the following day against the Guardians.

What are a few other notable spring games?
The Mariners’ games against the American League West in spring are always worth watching, to gauge how they stack up against the rest of the division -- particularly the defending World Series champion Rangers. The March 13 game against the Dodgers will bring about an old friend in Hernández, as will the March 17 game against the D-backs and Suárez. Seattle’s only night game is on Thursday, March 21, against the Reds in Peoria.

What is Spring Breakout and when is the game?
Brand new in 2024, MLB Spring Breakout is a four-day event showcasing baseball’s future -- the current stars of Minor League Baseball. The inaugural edition will be held from March 14-17 at Grapefruit and Cactus League stadiums, featuring a series of 16 exhibition games between teams composed of each organization's top 20-25 prospects. The goal is to create a new touchpoint on the baseball calendar that celebrates the sport’s budding talent.

The Mariners’ Spring Breakout game is on Friday, March 15, against the Padres, the team that they share the Peoria Sports Complex with.

Will the team’s games be televised?
Ten Mariners Spring Training games will be televised live on ROOT Sports:

• Feb. 24 at White Sox
• Feb. 25 vs. Guardians
• March 1 at Colorado
• March 3 at Padres (but in Peoria)
• March 15 vs. Padres (Spring Breakout)
• March 16 vs. White Sox
• March 17 vs. D-backs
• March 24 vs. Cubs
• March 25 at Padres (Petco Park in San Diego)
• March 26 at Padres (Petco Park in San Diego)

All Mariners Spring Training games can be heard on Seattle Sports (710 AM) and participating members of the Mariners Radio Network.

When is the club’s last game in Arizona?
March 24 against the Cubs.

Will there be any additional exhibitions before the regular season?
The Mariners will play two exhibitions against the Padres at Petco Park in San Diego, from March 25-26, then have one off-day back in Seattle before Opening Day.

What are the details for Opening Day? (date, time, opponent and location)
Thursday, March 28, at 7:10 p.m. PT against the Red Sox at T-Mobile Park.
